The fire had lasted until morning, and all through the night, Sunset Town was shrouded in an orange-yellow twilight.
The dense smoke from the wildfire rushed towards the sky, obliterating the moonlight.
Many villagers had walked out of their houses, watching the Black Forest being consumed by flames. The firelight solidified in their eyes, and their originally dim gazes seemed to glean a momentary brilliance from it.
For thousands of years, no one had managed to do this.
Even if one set fire to the forest, the Black Forest would regrow rapidly. It encroached on farmland and released various terrifying monsters. As for the Demonic Tide, the majority of people who survived its onslaught were few, and many had no concept of this world's greatest disaster.
But it seemed that the situation was a little different now.
