Kapitel 24: Butchering

Wow! I've gotten so many rewards for killing a beast that hasn't even awakened yet; it's got me thinking about whether I should be exploring ruins or just butchering beasts, as every crazy novel protagonist does.

But more importantly, if I am able to get strong by killing the beast just like Light, I may be able to survive at least when this world reaches the middle part of the novel.

And maybe all the beasts in this jungle also heard this thing going on in my mind. Because

Even if Gnosis doesn't tell me, I can still feel the sharp bloodlust of two beasts on my body, one from the right and one from the left.

With the help of the knowledge I gained at the time of my awakening, I took the pure mana present in my heart and brought it to my eyes. After putting a bit of my focus on myself, I activated my newly gained ability. The world around me brightened up, and now I can see more clearly in this dark night.

After activating my night vision, it is easy to find out that both of the beasts that gave me their hateful glances had a similar race and stature to the creature lying at my feet; maybe they are bigger than this fellow.

Both of them take a circle around me once and then dash towards me at their full speed, which may touch over one hundred and fifty km/hour. But I can follow their speed without having any difficulty.

because for me they are slower than a snail.

I jumped towards the sky, and below me, I watched both of them crash into each other while their jaws were still open.

The leap I take makes me reach ten metres higher in the sky, and then gravity takes action. With that, I start falling, but to how Levi Ackerman fights, I take out my blade as well as spin my body like Beyblade and cut both Lakadabagghes into several pieces.

Ignoring the advice that Gnosis just gave me, I put my hands on whatever was left of both of their bodies. and after waiting about twenty minutes as before, I hear Gnosis's occasional soothing voice in my mind.

< Both of the beings had similar abilities that the previous one possessed, and the master had already acquired them before, so there was no need to extract them again. The amount of mana used for ability extraction is very high, so the master has been advised not to use it carelessly. >

After finding out that taking power from other beings is not going to be as easy as I thought before, my dream of becoming a certified novel treasure hoarder has already drowned in the drain.

Taking these thoughts out of my mind by metaphorically gripping them with my hand, I quickly turned my head in the direction from which I heard the voice coming.

Similar to how there is an endless supply of boring novels these days, these Lakadabagghes are also coming nonstop to die at my hands. I have just killed three, and five more have come. They are also intelligent enough that they never disturb me when I use my ability to extract.

Well, don't they often say that "if you can see it, there is a silver lining to everything"?

The hatred they all have for me is evident in their eyes, just like it was in the eyes of the Lakadabagghes I killed before, and they are all standing around 100 metres away from me. However, this time is different from the last; unlike their previous brethren, they are cautious in front of me and aren't just charging at me without taking the time to consider their approach. Unfortunately, I'm not stopping for them, which is going to be awful for them.

I flowed mana into my feet, and without giving it much thought, I sprinted in their direction. They all dispersed when they saw I was coming their way, rather than attacking me.

Don't want to be encircled by them, I increase my speed, which led to me reaching them so fast that they weren't able to separate quickly, and the Lakadabagghe who was closest after I had covered the distance between them had to pay for this mistake.

With the swordsmanship of my bastard ancestors, I swung the blade at the Lakadabagghes. The black sword sliced through that beast's wide-open mouth and tore it in half. The Lakadabagghes died so quickly that he could not even glance at me one last time with his angry eyes.

Not wasting another second on the dead beast, I spin my body in the south direction and quickly start chasing two hyenas running away from me. Both of them were running at full speed, but I reached in front of them in only one leap, and before they understood how dire their situation was, I cut off their front legs.

Due to inertia and the sudden loss of their front legs, both of their bodies are scrubbing on the rough woodland surface. Each of their bodies is shivering with fear, but without waiting for anyone else, I inserted my sword inside the head of one and cut the throat of the other.

"Three are gone, and only two are left."

I turn my eyes to the two remaining Lakadabagghes, who are running fast in the opposite direction from me; even knowing that chasing them is not free from danger, I still start following them.

In a few moments, I reached them, but before I could send them both Lakadabagghe to their other lives with my sword, an earth-shattering sound halted my steps.

`KhhhAhh`

hearing this sound immediately activate my fast thinking skill.
