Transfiguration Class | 13th September 1988 | 11 AM

Charlus wasn't having the greatest day. Everyone in the entire class was able to transfigure the matchstick into a needle. Everyone was able to change at least one aspect. Everyone except him. He had tried as hard as he could to push the magic out of his body, but nothing worked.

He sat down and watched everyone happy with what they were able to achieve. After the class, Charlus went outside by himself without waiting for his friends. He ran to his dorm. He wanted to go inside, but he decided to go to the small secluded alley behind the building instead. When he got there, he stood in front of the wall.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

He started punching the wall till his fist was badly bruised. Then he leant towards the wall and slowly crumpled into the ground. He started crying.

He had been so excited that he would be performing magic, but when he saw everyone around him perform magic, he became frustrated with himself. He started believing that he was a squib.

"Why? Why me?"

He continued sobbing. Suddenly, it started raining. Charlus became drenched in the rain. He slowly drifted into unconsciousness and fell onto the ground.

Dueling Classroom | 6th September 1988 | 11:37 AM

"Where's Charlus?" Lucas asked Charlotte who was beside him.

"I don't know. Didn't he come with you?"

"No, he didn't. We thought he came with you."

"He didn't. Where can he be?"

"I don't know. Maybe he's bunking the class."

"Skipping Duelling? But we are having mock duels today!"

"Shhh!! The professor came."

Fleur stopped the conversation between Charlotte and Lucas.

A tall man walked into the classroom.

"Good morning class. Today we will be having our first duelling practical lessons. First, let's..."

____

After the class, all of Charlus' friends gathered at the dining room.

"Where's Charlus?" Henri asked.

"I don't know. Lucas thinks he skipped class. Could you give a more reasonable explanation?"

"Charlus skipping the class sounds reasonable."

Charlotte facepalmed.

"What makes you think anyone in their right mind skips today's class. We had mock duels today. What could be more interesting than that?"

"That's Beauxbatons talking. Before Charlus, no one had ever pranked anyone. I'm telling you, this school is destroying the student's thinking."

"Would you stop and focus on the current issue. Where could Charlus be?"

After lunch, the fourth years had Herbology. Since they couldn't afford to miss class, they attended it with the hopes that Charlus would attend it. When they went to the class, however, they couldn't find Charlus.

______

Charlus was lying on the ground. If anyone was observing him closely, they would see the wounds on his fist visibly healing. The skin tissues were attaching themselves. In an hour, there was no evidence that there was a wound in the first place.

The rain had stopped after an hour and Charlus was still sleeping. He was out and would stay that way for at least another 3 hours. Normally no one would go to the secluded corner that Charlus was in, but as his luck would have it, someone did.

"What is this kid doing here? Don't they assign dorms to the students?"

The person nudged Charlus but didn't notice any reaction from him. He nudged him again but didn't get a reaction.

The person took out his wand and chanted, "Levicorpus."

Charlus rose and was in the air, hanging upside down on his ankle.

"Let's take you to the infirmary."

The person levitated Charlus and walked to the infirmary. When he entered the infirmary, the medi-witch was suspicious.

"Surely you weren't sick enough to lay your hands on a kid." She spat out.

The person coldly replied, "I found him like this. Do something about it."

He gave those words and left.

The medi-witch levitated Charlus onto a bed. She diagnosed him and found that there was nothing wrong with him. He was just asleep. She left him on the bed and went back to her counter in the infirmary.

Three hours later Charlus woke up. He looked around and saw that he wasn't where he should be. He recognized the infirmary since he had already been there a few times. He stood up and walked to the medi-witch.

"Excuse me? Do you know how I got here?"

The medi-witch looked up and saw Charlus.

"That filt- student brought you here."

"Could you tell me who it was? I want to thank them personally."

"It's alright if you don't. He doesn't deserve a thanks."

Charlus was confused at the medi-witch's prejudice against the person who saved him.

"Could you please tell me where he could be?"

"Probably managing that club of his."

The medi-witch said to Charlus and went back to the magazine she was reading.

"Which club?"

"That bloody alchemy club. Pretty big controversy he caused. Not that he needed a club to do that. I don't know what Madame Maxime was thinking when she let that man into this prestigious Academy."

Charlus left the infirmary. He started thinking. An alchemy club that caused controversy. The only club that did that was the club that didn't accept half-bloods.

Charlus rushed towards the club area. He wanted to repay his debt by showing his gratitude. He went past the astronomy tower to the area of the clubs. He looked around and saw the club he was looking for.

'True Alchemy'. The name itself was a slap on the face of the other alchemy club.

Charlus saw a senior with his back towards him. He approached him and asked, " Excuse me? I'm looking for someone who took me to the infirmary. Could you tell me? The medi-witch said he was here."

"It was me. What do you want?"

"I wanted to that you."

The senior turned around and Charlus recognized him immediately. It was the person he met when he was going home in his first year. It was Albus Grindelwand.
