At the dungeon beneath the estate, the torchlight on one side made Sir Daelan's tall shadow stretch out the stone walls. 

His shadow mimicked his movements as he placed a hand on the hilt of his sword sheathed against his waist. He clenched and adjusted his grip, producing a clink through the oppressive silence in the jail cell.

Eyeing intently, he stared at the man, who looked thin from days of hunger, bound to the chair in front of him. 

The Marquess had asked Sir Daelan to interrogate this man for the day, as he had other things to take care of. However, Sir Daelan had been questioning the suspect for hours, and no matter how hard he pressured him, the man would not say a thing.

Now, Sir Daelan was getting more and more frustrated as he still couldn't get him to talk.

The investigation may have progressed a lot after Miss Aurel informed them that she discovered Lady Clarissa was not the one behind it at all, but that did not mean they were done.
