After dinner.

The family gathered back in the living room discussing happier times in the past before the bloody battle between savage vampires and humans occurred that changed everything.

Brent looked at his mother. "Mother, you didn't find the corpse of my father and my half brother after the battle ended a century ago?" he inquired.

Margaret shook her head and sighed. "I'm sorry, son. We failed to find them. If we succeeded in finding them we would have given them a proper burial so that we can visit their tombs regularly," she said.

Sadness clouded Brent's face.

Ariana and Oliver avoided their brothers' eyes.

Margaret cleared her throat. "Um... Let's set a date for a family reunion. How about next week? Guys, please dedicate the incoming weekend to the family get-together. I want it to be a two days event. No need to worry about the accommodation, this house has plenty of rooms that can accommodate everyone," she said.
