One hour later.

Brent and Viktor finally arrived at the ancestral house.

Brent exited the vehicle and entered the house.

Adoora was sitting on the sofa watching her favorite drama show on TV.

"Hello, Mother..." Brent said.

Adoora looked at her future son-in-law. "Oh, why are you back all of a sudden?" she asked.

Brent lowered himself to the sofa. "Um, I have something important to tell you, Mother," he said.

Adoora raised a brow. "What is it?"

"I need to talk to you, ALONE," Brent said, emphasizing the word alone. He glanced at the staircase. "Is Irene in her room? Sleeping?" he inquired.

"Yes," answered Adoora. "Why? Do you want to talk to her?"

"Later, Mother. I just want to talk to you first," he said seriously.

"Okay, let's go to the garden at the back of the house," Adoora replied, rising to her feet.

They exited the house and walked on the path, leading to the back of the house.
