She suddenly looked up, her gaze landing on the lone and desolate figure of the man.
Curiosity compelled her to follow him.
Both of them were silent as they walked. The only noise, the rattling of the cart wheels.
In no time, Chloe Collins found herself far behind the man, unable to catch up regardless of how she quickened her pace.
By the time she reached the doorway, the man was nowhere to be seen.
She parked the trolley aside, stood under the door, staring at the city's blossoming night scene, but couldn't find the man's figure.
"Hey, hey, hey." an old voice chided impatiently.
Chloe turned her head to see an old man patting the table, signaling her to take notice.
