Later, as the office emptied out for the day, Carissa sat at her desk with a heavy heart, rearranging papers with a somber expression. Louisa approached her, concern evident in her voice.

"Are you alright?" Louisa asked, noticing Carissa's downcast demeanor.

Forcing a smile, Carissa nodded weakly. "I think so."

"You have not seemed yourself all day," Louisa observed, her brow furrowing with concern.

Struggling to contain her emotions, Carissa took a deep breath, her voice trembling slightly as she confessed, "I ruined the presentation. It was my first time, and I... I ruined it." She sniffed, feeling a wave of despair washing over her. "I just feel so broken right now, for so many reasons."

Louisa's expression remained unchanged, offering little comfort. "Oh, really?" she responded flatly. "I had no idea. Sorry to hear that."
