Kapitel 40: The Locket

Nanny Rita was discussing dinner plans with the cook when David walked in. She sent the cook away and approached David as he settled on the couch in the living room.

"Hey there, big man. Where have you been all this time?" she asked, her brows furrowed in concern.

"Met up with a business partner and..." David began.

"Oh, my sweet Jesus, I keep telling you to take it easy on the weekends. Working on Saturdays and Sundays? Who does that?" Nanny Rita interrupted, shaking her head.

David chuckled. "Relax, Rita. I did manage to unwind a bit. Went to a spa."

"A spa? Did you get a massage?" she inquired.

"No, just hit the sauna. It was refreshing," David replied.

"Good, but promise me you'll take some time off soon. You need to recharge, especially after..." Nanny Rita leaned in and whispered, "Your rendezvous with Carissa."

David's eyes widened in surprise. "We didn't do anything. You interrupted us, remember?"
