As expected, her first cousin would not make this easy for her. His words were sharp and blunt, straight to the point without giving her face.

''If you're trying to make a joke out of my unfortunate life, I expect you to grow some sense and stop at once, cousin.'' His gaze sharpened with a warning. ''Do not needlessly waste my time if you have nothing to say.''

In response, Ayana lowered her gaze in silence. Whether unable to stand his glare or the guilt of manipulating him through his health condition, she remained silence in thoughts.

'I need to convince him.' She released a small sigh.

Ayana knew that she needed to convince Noah. She needed to make him to believe that she wasn't the same rude cousin as before, and was not wasting his time.

 ''The Easmond family.'' She raised her gaze with a question. ''Noah should know the background of that family, right?''
