It takes two weeks before I'm able to navigate my way around campus without getting lost or turned around. When I make it to statistics with a few minutes to spare, it feels like a major accomplishment, and I'm tempted to pat myself on the back. Instead, I pull out my stats book. It slips from my fingers before landing on the floor with a loud thud that reverberates throughout the lecture hall. A few people swivel on their chairs and stare.

I reach down to pick it up and realize someone has beaten me to it. Our heads bump, and we both groan.

"Sorry," we say in unison before chuckling.

"Here, allow me." When the guy sitting next to me bends over for a second time to retrieve the book, I take a moment to check him out.
