With the cloaked figure disappearing into the hallway's shadows, Ego turned, expecting to confront an unexpected visitor. Yet, standing before him was one of the school guards, rubbing his eyes in confusion.

"Wait, what? What the hell just happened? I can remember coming towards your room and all of a sudden, nothing else," the guard mumbled, visibly perplexed.

Ego's mind raced, contemplating the bizarre encounter moments ago. "Something must have influenced him," he thought, pondering the enigmatic occurrence. Turning back to the guard, Ego inquired, "What actually brought you to my room?"

The guard, still trying to regain his bearings, responded in confusion, "What?"

"You mentioned you were on your way here, so what news do you have for me?" Ego pressed, hoping for clarity amidst the apparent confusion.
