Leslie's POV
I stepped outside, needing the cool night air to wash over me, to ground me as I felt the restless kicks of our babies within me. With every jab and flutter, I could feel the vibrant life growing inside, but they only served to amplify the turmoil in my heart. The weight of the past few weeks had been suffocating, each moment stretching out like an eternity as I watched Damien battle his demons.
Every time he left the bedroom for another session with Fenrir, my heart leapt with a mix of pride and dread. He was doing this for us, for our future, but with every passing day, it felt as if he was drawing just a little further from me. It was a slow unraveling, and it terrified me.
