22.44% God System: The Path Beyond Heavens / Chapter 10: Path (2)

Kapitel 10: Path (2)

For a normal person who can't cultivate and become a warrior, he has two paths to choose from.

The first path was to enter a good university and study there, or he would join the workforce and gain experience by working in a relevant field. Both paths have their own advantages and disadvantages.

But for a warrior, it completely changes, as their path is not paved with conventional methods.

Instead of attending a university or joining the workforce, a warrior had four paths he could choose from.

The first path is to join the United Human Academy, which was created by the country to nurture future generations of warriors.

There, the students would be given many privileges, such as cultivation resources and different teachings from experienced warriors.

However, the path was highly competitive, with only a limited number of spots available each year.

The second path was to join a great family of warriors. These families had a long-standing tradition of producing skilled warriors and offered strong support.

Joining a great family meant having access to extensive resources and connections.

However, this path came with the pressure of living up to the family's reputation and expectations.

Your life wouldn't be yours anymore, and you would constantly be under family orders and obligations.

Every order the family gives would need to be followed without question, and any deviation from their expectations could result in severe consequences.

The third path was to join the martial dojos in the neighboring town.

By becoming a disciple at these dojos, one had the opportunity to hone their combat skills.

They wouldn't teach you any other skills or provide you with a well-rounded education, but they would provide their warriors with the resources and money that they needed to cultivate.

Of course, nothing is for free; the warriors will have to accept missions and hunt outside the safety zone.

The Wildness were the humans who had lost their cities and were now filled with monsters and dangerous creatures who roamed freely.

It was a treacherous and unforgiving environment, but the warriors knew that if they wanted to change their lives, they had to venture into the wilderness.

The rate of death was high, but the rewards were worth it.

As for the last option, it was to go solo, which was the hardest and most dangerous path of all.

Resources would become scarce, and the chances of survival would be slim. Even if the warrior has money, it would be hard to acquire enough resources as most of them are with the dojos, great families, and the government.

That's why it's rare for warriors to choose the solo path as it was hard and risky.

As for what Luke decided to do, he weighed the risks and rewards of each option carefully.

Becoming part of the government would give him a lot of resources and wealth, but he would be bound by their rules and regulations, limiting his freedom and independence.

And there was no way he would join a great family. Luke had read too many cultivation novels and knew that becoming part of a great family would be the worst option.

He didn't want to enter into any family drama and be caught up in power struggles and rivalries.

Joining a dojo wasn't bad of an option either. Luke liked the idea of honing his skills, and he also needed God Points to cultivate faster and become stronger, so he would need to enter the wildness eventually.

As for going solo, it also had its perks.

The warrior can do whatever he wants, but the problem is that resources for his cultivation would become scarce, and he would have to rely solely on his own abilities. But for Luke, such things didn't matter because he had the system.

Luke kept thinking about the benefits of every option as he started running on the side of the road and contemplating his next move.

He lived in a rural area surrounded by many other houses that were in worse condition than his own.

(basically, the poor district)

He knew that if he stayed in his current surroundings, he would have limited opportunities for growth and progress.

"I need to change that." He didn't want to keep his mom in this district, not to mention it wasn't safe as there were many crime incidents, and because of his mom's work, she always returned late at night.

As he continued his run, he weighed the pros and cons of his future choice, as it would determine his future and that of his family.

"Oh, isn't that little Luke? Exercising like usual, I see?"

An old man called out from an old shop, interrupting his thoughts.

Luke recognized him as Mr. Johnson, the owner of a vegetable shop that was close to Luke's house.

He waved his hand in greeting and jogged over to the shop. Mr. Johnson had always been kind to Luke and his family, often giving them discounts on fresh produce.

As Luke approached, Mr. Johnson offered him an apple, saying,

"Here, take this. It will keep you strong and focused on your goals."

"Thanks, Mr. Johnson."

Luke thanked him with a smile and continued his run.

"Hahaha, what an amazing kid! Unfortunately, he can't cultivate." The old man thought to himself as he watched Luke disappear into the distance.

Everyone in the neighborhood knew about Luke's dream of becoming a warrior and admired his determination. Despite not being able to cultivate like most warriors, Luke had trained tirelessly to achieve his dream, and everyone in the neighborhood had witnessed how the kid trained daily.

|Crunch~~|

"Delicious!"

Eating the apple given to him by the old man, Luke kept thinking about his options.

Only after running for a couple of minutes did Luke finally decide about his next move. He knew that he couldn't give up on his dream, no matter how challenging it seemed.

"Okay, I decided!" Luke exclaimed, his voice filled with determination.

"I'm going to join a dojo!"
