The first function was nice; it only meant that Luke had to hunt for beasts to level up. It should be easy for him to do so as long as he stayed focused and tried not to die early.
Luke felt a spark of excitement. "What about the second function? Is there more?"
He knew there had to be a second function that he had yet to discover.
[The second function, Skill Practice, allows the host to learn and master a variety of skills. Whatever the skill, it can be learned by using points. The system will create a training ground inside the host's mind, where the host will train until he has mastered the skill to the required level. In real life, only one second will pass, regardless of how much time is spent inside the space.]
"Fuck that too, that's OP!" Luke exclaimed, his eyes lighting up at the explanation. A training ground inside his mind where time moved differently? This meant he could practice as much as he wanted without wasting any real time.
"And I can learn any skill?" he asked, a wide grin forming on his face.
[Affirmative. The host can learn any skill. Of course, the skill should be compatible with the host's level. If the skill is classified as incomplete or has a negative effect on the host, the Skill Practice function will not work.]
Luke felt his excitement building. With this system, he could level up by hunting beasts and also master any skills he needed. He could grow stronger and faster without the typical constraints of time.
[Is the host prepared to reincarnate?] the system inquired.
Luke paused, his excitement momentarily tempered by lingering concerns. "Hold on," he said, his mind racing. "I have two more questions before I jump into this reincarnation thing."
[The host may proceed.]
"First," Luke began, "what can you tell me about the world I'm going to? I need to know what I'm up against."
The only thing he knew was that it was a more advanced cultivation world, so his curiosity was piqued.
[The system cannot provide details of the new world until the host has reincarnated. Once the process is complete, all relevant information will be revealed.]
Luke frowned. "Great, a mystery world. Fine." He shook his head but quickly refocused. "Second question—what about the time difference between Earth and this new world? I don't want to come back and find that all my family and Elara have... you know, passed away. How does that work?"
[Looking at the host's original world location, the time flow between the host's old world and the new world is different. In the new world, every 100 years is equivalent to 1 year on Earth.]
"Hufff~"
Luke sighed in relief upon hearing this information. "So, I have 100 years to gain the ability to return home and not have missed much back on Earth. That's a huge relief." He felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
One year can change many things, especially for humans, who have a limited lifespan.
Luke felt a mix of hope and uncertainty as he considered the implications of the time difference. A hundred years in the new world meant only a year would pass on Earth. He could become strong and capable, but would it really matter if everything he cherished was gone?
As he stood in the ethereal white space, the anticipation of his new journey battled with the heavy weight of nostalgia.
He thought about his family and how they would cope with his absence. His mother's warm smile, his father's quiet wisdom, and his sister's playful teasing flooded his mind. He couldn't bear the thought of them mourning him.
And then there was Elara. The image of her bright eyes and infectious laughter filled him with both warmth and sorrow. She was already with someone else, and with each passing day, the possibility of them being together faded.
A pang of regret coursed through him. "What if I return to find her already married? Would it hurt less?" He couldn't shake the idea that his return might bring more pain than joy.
But then a fierce determination ignited within him. He had been given a second chance—a new life in a world filled with opportunities for growth and power. "I can't just give up," he thought. "Even if she's with someone else, I owe it to myself and my family to return."
Luke took a deep breath, trying to calm the tempest of emotions swirling within him. "Alright," he said, his voice steadying with newfound resolve. "I'm ready to reincarnate."
[Reincarnation process initiating.]
[The host's consciousness will now transition to the new world.]
A shimmering portal began to materialize before him, swirling with vibrant colors that seemed to pulse with energy. Luke stepped forward, his heart racing with anticipation and anxiety. The unknown world awaited him, brimming with potential and challenges.
As he crossed the threshold, he felt a rush of energy envelop him.
He thought of his family, of Elara, and whispered a promise to himself: "I'll come back stronger. I'll make my life count."
With that, he stepped through the portal, and Luke vanished; his soul had been reincarnated.

"Agh~!"
"My head!" Luke groaned as he woke up in a daze, the pounding in his head jarring him from unconsciousness. Slowly, he opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar room.
His body was lying on a small bed.
Luke blinked, his eyes adjusting to the soft light filtering through the window. The room around him was small and sparsely furnished, with peeling wallpaper and a worn-out bed.
A wooden desk in the corner held a few scattered books and an old lamp, casting a warm glow over the room. It wasn't lavish, but for some reason, it had a sense of familiarity that eased his initial disorientation.
"Is this the new world I've reincarnated in?" Luke wondered aloud.
"Why is my head pounding like this?" He reached up to touch his temple, wincing as a sharp ache shot through his head.
"My head is covered in bandages!" he exclaimed, noticing the white wraps wrapped tightly around his head.
Luke sat up slowly, carefully taking in his surroundings. The faint smell of herbs lingered in the air, mixed with a hint of something sweet. He felt the bandages and gingerly touched them.
"Maybe this body was injured; that's why the head is bandaged," Luke mused.
Suddenly, a whirlwind of fragmented memories flooded his mind, causing a throbbing sensation that felt like a hammer striking an anvil. Faces and names danced before his eyes, each flickering like a candle in the wind.
"AHHH!!!!"
"Ughhh!!"
Unable to hold on any longer, he fainted. Luckily, he collapsed back onto the bed in the small, dimly lit room. As he lay unconscious, the memories of another person continued to swirl in his mind, each one more vivid and overwhelming than the last.
