All three officers in the car weren't fools. Otherwise, they wouldn't have become police officers. One of them said:
"Do you take us for fools? Do you really think anyone would believe that? You remember all the basic social knowledge and can speak normally, but conveniently forget all the important things? Are you kidding?"
Azeroth felt quite helpless - he truly didn't remember anything.
"I'm telling the truth. Don't you have a lie detector or something like that? Bring it out and test me! I've already told you, I really don't remember anything."
From the way he spoke, it didn't seem like he was acting, but it was still necessary to be cautious. The officer sitting next to him said:
"I'm going to hold onto this phone for investigation. In a little while, an expert will come to examine you. Don't worry, if there's nothing wrong, we'll let you go."
"I have no objections. I still believe that Chinese police are trustworthy."
Upon hearing his tone, the officers realized something—he was definitely not Chinese.
"Are you a foreigner?"
"You could say that."
"Why do you say 'could'?"
"I'm sure I'm not a citizen of China, but I'm also sure I'm not from any country on Earth."
Hearing this, all three officers began to contemplate. Azeroth's appearance so far had been filled with strange details. Naturally, they couldn't help but think of supernatural factors.
After all, being cautious is always better. If they made a mistake, it could have serious consequences for the people.
The police exist for the people, and they must do their best to fulfill their duty responsibly.
"So, what are you saying - you're an alien or a celestial deity?"
"The normal deitys wouldn't waste their time coming here to meet humans - they're busy. As for whether I'm an alien, I'm not entirely sure."
The more he spoke, the stranger it sounded. The three officers didn't even know where to begin when it came to verifying his identity.
At this point, they arrived at the police station, and one officer said:
"Get out of the car and head inside."
With his cooperative attitude up until now, Azeroth naturally followed the officers inside.
At this point, two different teams of experts arrived: one to investigate his phone and the other to investigate him.
Following the police's instructions, Azeroth went with the experts into a room for questioning, while the other team took his phone for examination.
However, an unexpected event occurred - the phone suddenly exploded. Fortunately, there were cameras in the area. Otherwise, no one would have believed the sight they were about to witness.
The phone didn't explode into pieces, but instead disintegrated into particles as fine as dust, which gradually floated in the air.
Clearly, there were no injuries - how could dust cause harm by passing through their bodies? It couldn't, and the explosion itself wasn't particularly powerful either.
"What did you just do?"
"Damn it, if you're asking me, who should I ask? I barely touched it, and the phone turned to dust - this doesn't make any sense."
"Exactly, do you think this is something current technology can do? If a phone exploded, I wouldn't be surprised, but turning to dust? How does that even happen?"
.....
They argued for a while but couldn't reach any conclusion. Thankfully, there was video evidence, or else they wouldn't have known how to report this incident to their superiors.
Just imagine - one day, your subordinate comes to you and says:
"Boss, I barely touched it, and the phone turned to dust."
Anyone with a normally functioning brain wouldn't believe such a claim. It sounded utterly absurd.
"Well, at least now we have evidence of this absurdity, so it'll be easier to explain to our superiors. We'll have to wait for the other team to finish before we can proceed."
On the other side, for several hours, they continuously questioned and talked with Azeroth. The results showed nothing out of the ordinary.
"Alright, for now, you'll stay here at the police station. We need to discuss this with our superiors."
"Alright, thank you." Azeroth replied.
Though they had brought him here, Azeroth still felt the need to thank them.
After all, he had no permanent place to stay, and now, with a place to rest, it saved him from wandering aimlessly.
When the experts finished, they began to discuss further:
"Did he show any unusual behavior?"
They all shook their heads. After hours of back-and-forth, they hadn't noticed a single abnormality.
"No, nothing at all. He really seems to have amnesia. But his intellect is intact, he can take care of himself just fine. However, there's another possibility—that he's truly an expert far beyond our comprehension. So, we should remain cautious. What about your results?"
"It's hard to put into words - you should see it for yourselves and decide." One of the officers responded.
He then played the video of the earlier incident for everyone to see. After watching what had happened, they were all stunned.
"What in the world is this? Magic?"
"Are you crazy? After all these years of education, you still believe in things like magic?"
"But how else do you explain this?"
"Well, considering what happened, maybe we should look into it. Magic may not exist for humans, but who's to say it doesn't exist elsewhere? Right, we should run a full body check on him."
The others nodded in agreement, still unsure whether Azeroth was even human.
As for Azeroth, he had just sat down to rest when he saw a group of people rushing toward him.
"What now? Didn't you finish investigating?"
"Oh, nothing much. We noticed you've injured your foot, so we thought we'd take you to the hospital for a checkup."
"Huh? No need for that. It's just a minor injury, and I'm feeling much better now. I don't want to trouble everyone."
Seeing him decline, one of them immediately replied:
"It's no trouble at all, really! We Chinese are very caring - when we see someone in difficulty, we lend a helping hand. If you refuse, we won't feel good about it."
They can't say outright that I suspect you're not human anyway.
If they say that and Azeroth isn't real human, he'll probably run away or deal with them.
With their enthusiastic offer, Azeroth couldn't refuse. He nodded and said:
"Alright, since you've already given me a place to stay, I'll go along with you."
And so, a group of dozens of people made their way to the hospital, drawing the attention of many onlookers as they went.
