Kapitel 1: Universe Anew

The only thing living was the darkness. Someone trapped inside a black world that was completely empty. A boy. He was an immobile body that did not move an inch, not even a muscle. He was only able to feel the chilly atmosphere of utter void. Not a single light even shone through.

A single, brilliant ball of light hovered above the boy's lifeless corpse. It began to slowly circle around him in an effort to awaken him. A feminine voice murmured in the void with conviction. A friendly tone. The voice was easily heard by the fallen figure, whose ears were covered with a comforting veil of hope that started to awaken itself

"Wake up, Tim. It seems we were sent to another dimension; a dimension that is the complete opposite of what we're usually used too. This universe releases the vibrant feeling of uncertainty. Remaining asleep will not get us out of here; nor your friends."

Tim's eyes awoke gradually. His white spiky hair waved at the awakening, and his garments rippled before bouncing up and down. When he jumped to his feet and opened his arms, he found that the scene in front of him was pitch black.

In search of an exit, he looked around, only to quickly realize that he was actually trapped inside his own mind. Her great spirit resided within his own spirituality.

The light began to cast a silhouette of a young girl's figure. Her blossoming pink eyes saw Tim standing in front of her, and her short, pale mauve hair fell to the points of her shoulders.

She was wearing a largely white jacket over the top of a grey undershirt. She had a little, pink backpack on her back. Her thighs were covered by a short black skirt, and her knees were clothed by long black leggings.

"Tomomi... It's you. Please tell me what's going on? All I remember is that a sudden flash appeared in front of my view, and then the next second, I found myself inside my own mind. Don't tell me I'm dead."

"Thankfully you aren't dead. Did you forget? You've been caught inside the "Black Storm". The storm that started to mess with the timeline. It started to connect different universes, and now we're both caught inside a dimension that we don't know much about. Your friends are stuck outside as well, but they need to be awoken." Tomomi claimed.

"Wha'? Do you at least know where we are? I know my body is currently asleep, but I can smell some sort of a scent; as if some kind of an ocean was nearby." He wondered.

"Our goal was to find a cure to stop the "Black Storm" from expanding further and begin messing with other universes. Currently you are trapped in the middle of the ocean. Your friends, too, are outside on the surface."

"Well that only confirms it. This means we'll have to travel through another brand new dimension only hopefully find an exit, perhaps the cure. I couldn't have my day be any worse than it already was, beforehand."

"Tell me, Tomomi. Do you think you could wake up my body? I can't really do much about it when I'm inside my mind. It's something I still have no experience about."

"'Kay... I'll wake you up from the outside."

Tim was left all alone within his head as Tomomi's body slowly dissolved. He waited patiently for his body to begin getting nerves before he gradually started to feel vibrations. The warmth that penetrated his spiritual body was pleasant.

Tomomi jolted him awake outside. He instantly woke up and found himself in the midst of the scenery. He was stranded on an island with nothing but sand and rocks for companionship.

He noticed his companions on the ground as he climbed to his feet. They were all drenched and unconscious. He cautiously walked toward the girl who was resting in the center of the beach, Tomomi floating behind him.

Due to the water soaking them wet, the girl on the floor had her long, white hair completely dropped, reaching to the far bottom of her back. Her black top had been visible due to her jacket slowly slipping off her back. He cautiously started to awaken her by reaching for her shoulder and shaking it.

The girl opened her eyes quickly after being awakened. She gave Tim a puzzled look before abruptly getting to her feet. She was on her knees in the center of the sandy floor, looking just at the ocean.

"Where are we?" She inquired before picking up and adjusting her jacket. Tim, who was equally as perplexed as the girl was, assisted her in standing up. Both remained in a state of mystery that needed to be resolved quickly.

"I'm not sure myself. But it looks all of us were dragged to this weird place. Just look, there's; Elliott, Codey, Tomomi, Nina and us two. It looks like we hopped through another universe by accident." He explained.

"The place looks... isolated. It almost looks like as if this entire dimension has nothing but water. Then again, we could really be anywhere, and just stuck on a single small island." She claimed.

"Let's wake up the others, and then let's think of a way to get out of here."

The three of them then began to wake everyone at once. Elliott was first, followed by Codey, and finally Nina. Like Tim, they were all bewildered. They initially exchanged glances before trying to think of a way to leave the isolated island.

"Our only way out of here together is to board a ship; which in this scenario would be an absolute lucky find." Codey told.

Tim answered. "That would be the wisest idea. We have no coordination about this place, and we don't even know if we're inside out own universe or stuck inside another just as Tomomi claimed."

Their time on the island started to make them grow tired. They waited patiently for something to arrive, until finally, Ayuka observed a faraway silhouette of a ship moving in their direction.

"Guys, see, it's a ship, an actual ship!" She directed her finger and convinced others to look as she assessed the distance and shielded her eyes from the sun with her hand, and they were finally confident that they would be rescued. "Thank the sea! I'd start exploiting Ayuka's ice to move across the ocean if I had to stay here for another hour!"

Codey was irritated by the glares again, and suddenly Ayuka raised her arm and waved toward the ship. "Hey, we're stranded over here; please help us! Hello! Over here, hey!"

Slowly, they began to be dejected, believing the ship would not see them, but just as they were about to shout, the flag turned and the entire ship began to sail toward them, and their expressions finally conveyed proper satisfaction and relief. "They're on their way, which is excellent because it means we can finally go on board and get off this island!" Codey grinned as he bit into the last piece of steak.

"Ahh, Dear Ayuka. when you're calling out with your calming and graceful voice, you're so lovely and sweet! Do you mind if I take your hand?"

Elliott began to wiggle with his butt as he fell in love with her once more, but was halted by Nina's slap over his head. "Settle down, lamebrain!"

The ship for which they had been waiting patiently eventually dropped the anker, and with it, a guy stepped toward the edge, a cigarette in his teeth, and looked down at them.

"It appears that we have discovered some knuckleheads; I noticed you waving, therefore I assume you require our assistance."

As he smiled at them, the man's eyes were black and his hair was grey, and despite his bigger frame, he appeared friendly and someone they could seek for aid.

"We got stuck here due to an allied error, and we couldn't do anything about it, so we had to stay here and wait for help, please can we abord the ship?"

"Captain, I believe we should not allow them to board our ship; they may be playing kind but are really after our riches." However, the individual was just amused by the supporter's voice. "Don't be such a wimp, they seem like nice folks, so hurry up and get on the ship; we're traveling to "Evergreed Island," where we can drop you off till you have your own ship or something."

"We just want to get back to Yashikami City." The man smiled and gave them a puzzled look. "Unfortunately, the sea is over 712,000,000 km2, so you'd have to go across the entire ocean to get there."

"Wait, what? You've got to be kidding, right?" Codey screamed, "That doesn't even make sense unless we're in another dimension!"

"I'm not kidding, the only way to go to the Yashikami City is to cross the "Outer-Sea Barrier," which separates the Earth from "The Vast Expanse!" Because none of our heroes knew what that moniker meant, they asked him for clarification after boarding the ship and setting sail with the man's crew in command.

It was hard for them to trust him, but they had no better lead.

"Sorry, I guess I didn't introduce myself! I'm Slade 'Master' Zeddicus, a pirate who has made his fortune on the high seas, and this is my crew? You don't seem to be much of a pirate, so who are you?"

"We're just strangers... Somehow ended up in this place. That's all..." Ayuka explained in a kind manner, and without attempting to be too long, she kept the explanation as brief as possible.

"Don't worry, we're happy to help!" Tim's curiosity, on the other hand, had finally reached a breaking point, and he demanded that a question be addressed without delay.

"You mentioned "The Vast Expanse," but what exactly is that?"

Slade gave him a curious look, then proceeded to explain after assuming they already understood. "This is the name of the entire sea, to be precise. Why aren't you aware of it? I figured you'd heard of it before." They soon disagreed, but expressed gratitude for the information.

"I guess this isn't the same dimension as Yashikami City; the ocean is vastly greater than the Earth's; I'm curious whether there are any larger cities like Yashikami, not simply various islands..." Ayuka stood with her chin cocked, thinking, when she spotted Codey, Nina, and Elliott drinking beer from a wooden cup.

"Cheers for someone to finally assist us!" they yelled as they smashed the two cups together and drank, the rest of the group looking on in disbelief. "I suppose we're going to "Evergreed Island," I'm curious how that looks..."

To be continued...

The first half of the chapter is updated to the current style, which appears in chapter 125+

I made the decision to rework the whole chapter. Since I kept certain elements the same, the writing process for this chapter may have been a little different than usual.

The original chapter's opening was too ridiculous and horrendous for my taste (Yours too). Most likely, you'll see the difference right away, not. You'll know what I mean if you ever make it to Chapter 125+.

I really do hope you will give this tale a chance and try to ignore the mistakes involving the early chapters.
