Kapitel 51: To break the king

Survive, they said. You're strong, don't let the world wear you down. It gets easier, they said. You must survive, for all those you see when you close your eyes, and dream of a land far from what's real.

But what if dreams are not enough anymore?

Emberle sits on a ledge 20 feet over the clouds outside the window of her room, overlooking the vast horizon with the sun sinking, creating a beautiful orange color on the cloud surface. Grey's illusion floats up from below like a ghost. He stares at her with passionate eyes while she looks out into the endless sky.

She takes a breath and drops her head which hides her face away from Grey. The state of her father, the disappearance of her brother, the fall of Marcos, and the hole Eve created...too much was weighing on her. Grey bends his head to look her in the eyes and tries to gently raise her chin, with his finger but it goes right through her. This makes him want to hold her even more.
