Izan's gaze lowered to the groveling man at his feet, his lips curling into a faint sneer. "It's not mercy you need, Leo," he said coldly, stepping back and allowing the guards to seize the man's arms. "It's competence. Something you've proven that you lack."
The guards hauled Leo to his feet, his protests growing louder as they began dragging him toward the door. His voice echoed through the chamber, growing fainter as the door closed behind them. Silence settled over the room once again, heavy and absolute.
Izan stood still for a moment, his hands clasped behind his back as he gazed at the empty space where Leo had knelt.
After a moment, he exhale slowly, and adjusted his jacket. There was someone far more important he needed to see now.
Without another word, he left the chamber, his steps purposeful as he made his way to check on Elian.
Izan made his way through the palace halls, his expression unreadable but his steps purposeful.
