"The steak tastes really good, try it," Zhou Mingchen forked up a piece of sliced beef and brought it to Xia Lu's face.

Xia Lu looked up at him, puzzled.

"Open up," Zhou Mingchen said in a tone so gentle it was unlike him, confusing her even more.

"My arm is starting to ache," he said with a light frown, frightening Xia Lu into immediately opening her mouth and swallowing the beef.

The steak was a specialty of Litang Hotel, with top-notch meat quality and texture, paired with their significant red wine, it was indeed an exceptional meal. However, Xia Lu felt uneasy.

She had felt that something was off about Zhou Mingchen all evening, no, very off.

It started when they got out of the car.

"You look really beautiful tonight," he had said the moment he saw her, already not acting like himself. It wasn't something Zhou Mingchen would normally say.
