“What Lucy?” Chris said grumpily through his sleep.

“You have to come here, it’s Aiyana.”

Chris jolted awake at those words, putting the screen on speaker to look at the time and start to dress himself. It was 1 am.

“What happened to her?”

“Nothing serious… She is simply well drunk out of her mind and will not listen to her friends. That pink head friend of hers asked me to call you while she tried to pry alcohol out of her fingers… she sounded desperate…”

“Give me fifteen minutes. I will be there.”

Chris knew this was not a good sign. Something seriously bad had happened to her today. Aiyana usually did not behave like that... she always knew when it was a drink too much. He grabbed the first pair of jeans he could find and pulled on a shirt, pushing his shoes on as he sprung around trying to leave with the keys.

“Benny boo!” Aiyana exclaimed in delight, clasping her hands around his neck to pull him close.
