Anne was implying that Caroline had no background except for being a mere director of the planning department at Neon. How could she expect Natalie to respect her?
After all, Natalie's family background was extraordinary.
In fact, Caroline was not surprised at all to hear that from Anne.
She stared at her for a few seconds before chuckling in a low voice. However, she didn't say anything and started helping herself to the dishes.
Anne had no idea what Caroline was laughing at, nor did she know why she chose to not say anything. The only thing she knew was that Caroline was being too arrogant, and even ignoring her. This made her fly off the handle.
She wished she could just smack the fork out of Caroline's hand!
However, in reality, it seemed more like Anne being the pushy one against Caroline. There was no trace of Caroline bullying Natalie at all.
Therefore, what Anne just said about Caroline being pushy was just her one-sided accusation.
