In an instant, Vanessa looked up and inadvertently, Caroline met her gaze.

Although she was Eddison's mother, Caroline didn't back off. She stared right into her eyes.

In the end, Vanessa looked away to the crib and said, "I'm here to see the baby."

After that, she walked up to him. Upon seeing the baby lying there obediently, she felt like her heart was about to melt.

With a sweet smile, she reached out her hand to pick up the baby, but was stopped by Caroline.

"Mrs. Zellweger, what are you doing?" Caroline asked.

"Caroline, I wish to hold my grandson."

Vanessa's tone became strong without her realizing. She sounded as if it was her right to hold the baby as his grandmother.

Caroline refuted, "Didn't you say that you're here to see the baby? I'm his mother. Shouldn't you ask me before you try to carry him?"

Vanessa stared at her with wide eyes. She simply couldn't believe what Caroline just said!
