Kapitel 19: Hospital

The next morning, she went to school looking very tired " how many hours did I sleep yesterday , so sleepy I want my warm bed but I have to do this if I don't do this Adrian won't keep up to his studies " thought Lilith slapping both her cheeks awake.

" Hey what's up Lilith, you looked awful " said Carol when she saw her in the class " I didn't have much sleep last night, please help me ask the seniors of classA for their class notes for every subject " " I will help but why do you need to ask their class notes " asked Carol "well it's for Adrian, his father is very sick and he can't come to school so I am helping him "

said Lilith looking sad "oh I hope his father is alright " said Carol " what's the matter guys " both Summer and Christina asked, Lilith told them the whole story they all agreed to help.

At class, Lilith was trying hard to keep her eyes open she dozed off for a second " hey don't doze off or the teacher will yell at you " said Christina pinching her arm, she instantly woke up " thanks for waking me up I need that".

The teacher teaching now was very strict if she was caught then he will deduct 5 marks from his teaching subject in the upcoming exam.

It was finally lunch break, all her friends help her asking for the notes and the seniors were very friendly they gave them their notes. " why are you collecting notes from our class " asked Julie " it's for Adrian " " oh he is absent for 3 days and exams are coming up, did he fell sick " " no his father is sick and is at the hospital and he had to help out " " hope his father is well soon " said Julie

The bell rang and school was over, she hurried back home " Dad.. dad.. I am home and I collected the notes for Adrian " said throwing off her school shoes and hurried to the kitchen to find her dad.

" welcome back you did a great job " said Antony rubbing her hair " dad can I come to the hospital with you to meet my friend " asked Lilith eagerly waiting for the reply " you can come with me " she was thrilled to hear that she could come, she was so anxious to see Adrian she was very worried about him.

Lilith and her dad went to the hospital with some flowers. They went to the intensive care unit Adrian was sitting beside his crying mom and assuring her. They were all outside the room and inside she could see a middle aged man with tubes in his arms and chest and a oxygen gas mask, the colour of his skin was very pale eyes were closed he looked like he was sleeping.

When Adrian and his mom notice us they thanked us for visiting, I gave the flowers to Adrian and also handed over the notes he thanked me, he was very silent I didn't like this type of Adrian now. " Lilith go to the garden behind the hospital with Adrian I have to talk to his mom " said Antony

So we went down the stairs but Adrian didn't say a word while walking his head was hung down and had sad expression with a gloomy aura I didn't know how to talk to him and walked in awkward silence.

We reached the garden, no one was around at the area they were . There were all kinds of flowers planted for the patients to admire, warm breeze blew it was summer there was a comforting silence they sat down on a bench near a tree, I didn't know how to approach him because she didn't really know how to comfort people when they are sad but his expression pains her and her heart was heavy looking at him.

She tried to speak " ..um.. Adrian ..how's your dad doing "

Adrian pulled her and hugged her tightly, it was so sudden that she didn't know what to do. He cried and cried on her shoulder, she instinctively rubbed his back " it's alright your dad is going to be okay " .

No one will know how painful it was for her to see him like that, she became emotional and cried with him ....sob.... sob... sob.... there were only the sounds of their cries.

Adrian broke the hug after 30 minute he wiped off her tears, she reached out her hand to wipe his off.

They looked at each other in silence " thank you for being here " said Adrian holding her face " why wouldn't I be here " said Lilith looking at his eyes . He turned and sat normally " I don't know what to do if I lose my dad even though he always yell at me for always playing video games he's my dad I love him " said Adrian his body trembling.

Lilith didn't know what came over her she hugged him from his back she never want to see the sad expression of his face " it's going to be okay I will always be here with you don't be sad anymore " said Lilith hugging even tighter " I know " said Adrian holding her hands . They sat there admiring the garden, they both know in their hearts that they care for each other and will always support when they are weak even if words were not spoken.

They went up to the intensive care unit and saw Adrian's mom and Antony was talking with a serious expression they didn't hear the conversation so they came closer, they noticed them coming over and stopped the conversation quickly it was like they were hiding something " you are here I have finished talking to his mother lets go "said Antony hurriedly . But before going he patted Adrian's shoulder and said "young man you have to be strong you have to be there for your mother we will come visit another time " .

" I don't have a good feeling about this why do it have to be those words it's like dad is getting worse " thought Adrian.
