Kapitel 12: He Killed The Girl

The college was boring as usual for Jade. But she successfully passed it until the school is done. She came out from the building and met Max who picked her up with her car that he had brought since the morning.

They kissed each other and smiled. Everyone looked at them with a jealous look because of their romantic scene. But no one knows who the real Max is.

Suddenly Max let his lips from her. His face became serious with his nose moving like he smells something. "What is it?" he asked no one but, of course, Jade could hear that.

"What do you mean, Max?"

"Blood. I smell blood. I think someone is bleeding," he told her.

Jade looked around her until she saw that Max was gone. He wasn't in front of her anymore. "Shit!" she cursed herself and looked around again to make sure whether people saw Max's gone or not.

But the thing is, she had to find him. She didn't want Max to do something bad after smelling blood.

"Jade," someone's voice came behind her and Jade turned around.

"Oh, thank God! Ace, can you help me to find-"

"Follow me. I know you are looking for Max," he said, cutting her off.

Jade swallowed her saliva and nodded her head. She followed Ace from behind and knew that they were going to the forest.

"Aaaaa!" the scream that became weak is heard.

Ace looked at Jade with a regretful face. "I am sorry, Jade," he said.

"Why are you sorry? We have to help that girl! I don't want Max to do something bad to her!"

"But, I think Max just did it. We're late. You will see with yourself. Do you want our journey to continue or not?"

Jade felt disappointed hearing that. A part of her heart was so wrecked and imagined if she saw that girl was dead by her boyfriend.

"Just walk, Ace," she finally said. "And thank you for helping me."

Ace didn't respond to her words. He kept going until he stood quietly and Jade followed him. They stood with blank faces, especially Jade.

Jade saw what Ace said. She saw her boyfriend suck the girl's blood from her neck and the girl looked already dead.

Her tears just fell. Her feelings became mixed in one moment. "Max ... " she called him. But Max didn't respond at all.

His eyes became red. His fangs looked so clear that made Jade even more disappointed. She reflexly held the pepper spray and came closer to him.

Ace held her hand and shook his head. "Don't, Jade. You will be in danger. The vampire can't control when we are sucking the blood," whispered Ace.

"Just let me do what I want to do, Ace."

Ace then let her. Jade walked closer and she saw her boyfriend's face so clear that he mentioned yesterday that they were a monster.

"I am sorry, Max," she said with a sad voice and then sprayed it on his face and his eyes.

Max screamed and became uncontrollable. He was angry and looked at Jade with a hateful expression that Jade had just seen by herself.

Max didn't know who Jade was when his anger just rose. Ace then covered her and looked at Max with an angry look too.

"Max! That. Is. Your. Girl!" he said with high intonation.

Max let his victim fall. His fangs were just gone and his red eyes changed into his original eyes. But the blood around his lips can't disappear.

"Jade, Ace ... is that you?" he asked, making sure.

Jade was just silent and her tears still fell while Ace replied with his head nod.

Ace moved his body and let his brother walk closer to Jade. But Jade seemed shocked from what she saw.

"She saw you with that girl," whispered Ace to him. "And you became uncontrollable while she sprayed on your face.

Max looked at the girl who had just died because of him. He then rubbed his lips until he felt it was already clean. "Jade, I am so sorry. I-"

"It's okay. It's-" she couldn't continue her words. "I-I think, I need more time. Maybe-Maybe, three days to get used to all of this," she finally continued it.

"Jade, but-"

"Please, Max. I'm okay if you are a vampire. I am not afraid of who you are. But ... but seeing this by myself, I still have not used it. This is my first time and I hope you understand."

Love is blind.

But she wasn't blind at all. Or, she might be blind on the first day and didn't care that her boyfriend was a vampire. And now, she wasn't blind yet because when she saw her boyfriend kill the girl she knew that she was her college friend, she was shocked.

Not because of that either. Because the first thing which made her shocked and even needed more time is, Max became a monster just like he said yesterday.

Jade sighed. She looked at her roof and blinked many times. She hated seeing the one she loves become a killer. Even though that was the risk she had to face, she still hated it.

She didn't cry anymore. She felt sorry for that girl and she was certain that tomorrow, her college will be announcing that the girl just died.

"Shit! I didn't know her name anyway!" she said to herself.

"Ah! Whatever! I just need more time from now on. I have to get used to it, right?" she talked again.

Jade closed her eyes. She inhales and exhales. She loved him for the way he is. Even for the first time, she didn't know his identity, he already got her heart.

"I may forgive you, Max, but ... I'm afraid that you will be caught off by my dad if things become worse," she said to no one.

Yes. The girl's death announcing tomorrow made her pretty sure that her father and friends as vampire hunters, will be looking for vampires. And it is what makes her worry so much.
