Restaurants were packed, and impromptu festivals erupted in every corner, with dancers twirling with flaming torches and musicians filling the night with lively tunes. It reminded me of the festivals back on Earth, a welcome wave of nostalgia washing over me.

I slipped out of the tavern unnoticed, taking in the sights and sounds with a sense of freedom I hadn't felt in weeks.
