Kapitel 8: Assassin Tavern

Redakteur: Nyoi-Bo Studio

The Assassin Tavern in the Cape District of Wild Waves City was located on Lighthouse Street, south of Boto Square.

Lighthouse Street was a well-known street in Wild Waves City that never slept. Most of the customers here were sailors resting on the shore. These sailors, who had been drifting in the sea for months, would vent to their heart's content once they came ashore.

They would spend every single imperial mark on the gambling table, women, and wine...

They would return to the ship when they were penniless and wait for the next voyage.

In order to avoid causing trouble for himself because of Clear Sky's beautiful looks, Luke avoided crowded places and tried to move as fast as possible on the roof.

It took some time and eyesight to find this extremely hidden tavern.

There was no sign outside the tavern, only a tightly shut door hidden in the bushes.

Luke knocked on the door.

A small window on the door opened, and a large yellow eye appeared behind the small window in the darkness.

"Strange elf, this is not a place that you should come."

Luke said the code, "I heard the voice of the shadow. It told me that the color of blood can only be seen with eyes closed. A dagger would release the whine of death after getting rinsed by wine."

"I don't know where you heard this code, but this is indeed not a place you should be.

"Go back, don't let the darkness devour you."

"I said the code. According to the rules, you should open the door and let me in. Evil Eye Tis..."

Tis, whose name was called, opened the door of the tavern.

The Evil Eye was an underground creature. Its form was similar to an octopus, and a large yellow eye on its spherical head took up half of its entire face.

"I was being nosy. Go in, elf... I hope you can come out alive. I can tell that your value is higher than most of the guys on the bounty list."

Luke walked past Tis.

"Tis, you're still as talkative as ever."

Behind the door, a dim lamp illuminated a flight of stairs. At the corner at the end of the stairs, two men were talking. When they heard the door open, they looked up together and saw the elf walking down the steps.

After Luke walked down, one of the men stopped her.

"Strange elf, are you here to post a bounty mission? You can directly entrust your mission to us without any additional commission or deposit."

At this moment, Tis shouted from above, "Hey, don't break the rules here. If you want to do anything to the elf... wait for her to leave this place."

The man had no choice but to make way for Luke.

Around the corner was an underground tavern. Due to the special nature of the tavern, all the customers were drinking and eating quietly. Even when they were conversing, they tried their best to lower their voices and spoke in all kinds of secret words that they had agreed on.

The arrival of a beautiful elf naturally attracted the attention of the entire tavern.

Everyone looked at the elf and calculated in their hearts... what kind of price could she be sold for?

Luke glanced at the customers in the tavern.

Comparing it with the introduction of the Assassin Tavern in the Cape District, a few of them could match the common heroes in the tavern.

They were all three-star heroes.

Luke approached the bar counter as everyone watched.

The bartender was a lizardman. He poured a glass of wine and placed it in front of Luke.

"According to the rules, guests who come here for the first time will have a free glass of wine. Beautiful elven lady, what can I do for you?"

Luke picked up the glass and drank half of the wine before placing it on the table.

Drinking half of it meant that he was an assassin who had come to accept a mission, and drinking all of it meant that he was a client who had come to issue a mission.

"I want to take a look at the bounty commission regarding the Wild Axe Party's Horned Demon Giant Tree."

The lizardman bartender looked at the half-filled glass of wine on the table and then at the female elf in front of him.

"It's hard for me to associate a beautiful elf like you with an assassin. You should be enjoying delicacies and servants in a high-class mansion. Any wounds on your body are blasphemy against beauty..."

At this moment, someone next to him said, "It will also greatly reduce your price. Instead of dying in the hands of the Wild Axe Party for the sake of the bounty, it would be better for you to sell yourself for a good price.

"I can introduce you to some good customers."

Luke knew that Clear Sky's appearance would definitely cause him a lot of trouble. She ignored the people beside her and said to the lizardman bartender, "You won't lose anything if I take a look, right?"

"Of course not."

The lizardman knew the way to survive. First of all, they should not argue with their guests.

The lizardman found the bounty information about the Wild Axe Party's Horned Demon Giant Tree under the counter.

After putting the information in front of Luke, he said, "This is the information you can see. If you want to know more information to increase the success rate of the assassination, you need to pay a certain amount of information consultation fee."

Luke had come to the Assassin Tavern to confirm if the bounty existed. After all, this world was a little different from The New Age.

Fortunately, the bounty for the Horned Demon Giant Tree was still there.

The price was also 5000 gold certificates.

"I accept this mission."

The lizardman bartender said dutifully, "Beautiful elf lady, I think you should buy some information about Giant Tree from us. You only need one gold certificate to increase your success rate of obtaining 5000 gold certificates."

One gold certificate!

How expensive.

The information he had is probably more complete than what they had.

"No need. I'll bring Giant Tree's head as soon as possible. Prepare the money."

Luke finished the rest of the wine in one gulp and left the bar.

"Miss Elf, I need your name for a record," the lizardman bartender asked loudly.

"Clear Sky..."

He came to the door of the tavern.

Evil Eye Tis, who was guarding the place, opened the door.

"The Tschick brothers should be outside... Poor elf. I told you, you shouldn't have come in."

"Thank you for the reminder, Tis."

Luke walked out of the tavern and heard the door slam behind him.

The small window on the door opened, and Tis's eyes were glued to the back of the window.

"You shouldn't have gone out."

"Tis, this elf chick was right. You talk too much nonsense."

After the door of the tavern closed, the Tschick brothers walked out of their hiding place.

Luke found the information about the Tschick brothers on his phone.

They were heroes who frequented the Assassin Tavern in Cape City.

Their ability is a werewolf bloodline obtained through a secret technique. They can transform into a werewolf to fight, and their ability can be enhanced at night. If it was a full moon night, their ability would be greatly increased.

Rating: 3-star (Battle ability on a full moon will be superior, reaching 3 and a half stars.)

Luke looked at the sky. A full moon had just risen above his head.

"I've never seen such a beautiful elf before. She's a gift from God. Little Brother, be gentle with Miss Elf later. If her face is scratched, she won't be worth anything!"

"Got it, brother. I really envy those rich people... If we had the money, we wouldn't have to sell her."
