96.21% Entangled: Crisscross / Chapter 127: Cross Alfonso Quinn

Kapitel 127: Cross Alfonso Quinn

"Cross Alfonso Quinn," Chris said before he downed a glass of whiskey. He turned his attention towards me as if silently asking me to say something. I didn't.

Seeing this, he sighed and looked away. "That was the name my adoptive father gave me. I was born as Chris."

He was just sitting across me yet he felt hundred of miles away. Cross and Chris. To be honest, I wanted to say something mean that I might probably regret later. However, I also realized that I could easily throw a tantrum without hearing his explanation. But that wouldn't take me anywhere. I was smart enough to know that.

I tugged the seam of my shirt as I tried my best to maintain my composure. "Why?" I wanted to know why badly.

I could leave here, file for a divorce, and not see him again. I could run away, just like what I did in Cone Lands. I could hide, avoid him. But the thought of not knowing the truth would haunt me forever.

Why did he choose to lie?

Why hurt me?
