Kapitel 223: Rogue

''If you can not forgive me for yesterday, then kill me. But if you decide to spare me, then don't hold a grudge over it after this.'' 

The moment those words escaped her mouth, Esme knew that she was inviting her own death. 

But she did not regret it. 

This man was powerful enough to kill her but he was toying with her. Little mouse, as he called her yesterday. 

And she was not willing to be anyone's toy. 

She was not going to be played around by him only to be killed in the end. 

If he was holding a grudge, then he could finish her off right there and then. 

If not, then she did not want anything to do with this man who clearly had dubious motives. 

As the silence drawled, Esme felt her palms turning sweaty. 

Her eyes were still closed but the man was not budging an inch from his spot. 

She could not hear his footsteps at all.
