Camilla watched William close and lock the bedchamber door, then stride over to a small table next to the bed. He pulled off his prince's circlet and tossed it onto the table as if it were a worthless trinket.
"Undress now, wife."
She blinked at his quiet, abrupt order.
He smiled back in satisfaction at her surprise as he unfastened the buttons at the collar of his outer tunic. "You heard me. Undress."
"Just like that?"
William tugged off his tunic and smirked at her. "Well, yes. These have been the hardest months of my life, with you denying me your bed. I don't see the point in wasting any more time."
Camilla raised her eyebrows. "That's not strictly true, so don't exaggerate."
