Hyoudou Residence
After an intense conversation with Riser, Kaito teleported back to his home. He materialized in his room, which was silent and empty. The familiarity of the place brought a brief moment of comfort, but it also emphasized the loneliness he felt now that his family and Asia were safe in the Fairy Kingdom.
In the center of the bed, a black cat slept serenely, its furry body stretched out over the sheets. Kaito watched the cat for a moment before heading to the bathroom.
'It seems that even a cat is good company,' he thought, smiling slightly.
Entering the bathroom, Kaito turned on the shower and let the hot water run, relaxing his tense muscles.
The steam filled the space, creating a calm and comforting atmosphere. He let himself be carried away by the sound of the water falling, his thoughts wandering about the challenges ahead.
With his family safe, Kaito knew he could fully focus on the Rating Game. He reflected on his strategy as the water ran over his body, cleansing not only the dirt of the day but also the worries weighing on his mind.
Feeling refreshed after the shower, Kaito left the bathroom without bothering to dress immediately. The house was empty, and he enjoyed the freedom of not having to worry about anyone's presence.
In the bedroom, the black cat was still asleep, but its eyes slowly opened when Kaito began looking for clothes in the closet. He chose a comfortable set of sweatpants and a simple t-shirt.
As he dressed, Kaito noticed the cat was now awake, watching him curiously.
'Why do I feel strange being watched by a cat?' he thought, speeding up the dressing process.
'It's just an animal, Kaito,' he said to himself, trying to ignore the uncomfortable feeling.
With his clothes finally on, Kaito called the cat to follow him. "Come on, kitty. I'll get you something to eat."
Going downstairs, Kaito went to the kitchen, the cat following him closely. He took a bowl and poured some milk into it, placing it on the floor. The cat approached and began to lap up the milk, apparently satisfied.
Kaito watched the cat for a moment before stepping away, leaving it to drink in peace. He felt a strange connection with the animal, as if its silent presence offered a bit of comfort in the solitude.
Azazel's House
At Azazel's house, the atmosphere was tense and expectant. Azazel sat in his office, a serious expression on his face. Beside him, Kalawarner stood, her posture rigid and nervous.
Azazel looked at Kalawarner, his hands crossed on the desk. "Kalawarner, I need to know everything you can tell me about Kaito," he said, his voice calm but firm.
Kalawarner took a deep breath, trying to recall all the details. "He's very strong, exhibits powers related to nature, and has wings that resemble those of insects," she explained, her voice slightly trembling.
Azazel listened attentively, his mind working quickly to try to figure out the nature of Kaito. "Insect wings, natural powers... this doesn't sound like anything I know."
Kalawarner continued, trying to provide more details. "He seems to have a deep connection with nature, and his abilities are different from any Devil I've ever seen."
Azazel frowned, reflecting on the information. Suddenly, an idea occurred to him, a possible explanation for Kaito's nature. 'What if he is...' Azazel thought, feeling a flash of inspiration.
However, before he could voice his thoughts, he shook his head in denial. "It can't be," he murmured to himself, dismissing the idea.
Kalawarner watched Azazel, feeling even more nervous. "Sir, do you think you can figure out what he is?"
Azazel looked up at Kalawarner, his expression more rigid. "That's not something you need to worry about," he said, his voice firm and authoritative, trying to end the discussion.
Kalawarner lowered her head, her posture submissive and regretful. "I'm sorry, sir. I just want to help."
"Go back to your duties, Kalawarner. I have much to think about," said Azazel, pointing to the door.
Kalawarner gave a slight bow before leaving the office, closing the door behind her, visibly distressed and nervous.
Once Kalawarner left, Azazel leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms behind his head. 'If Kaito is what I'm thinking, this world is about to get very interesting,' he thought, an enigmatic smile appearing on his face.
Rias's Mansion
At Rias's mansion, the atmosphere was tense with anticipation. Rias, Akeno, Koneko, and Kiba were gathered in the main room, waiting for Kaito's arrival. They were going to a mountain cabin to train for the Rating Game.
Rias looked at the clock on the wall, impatient. "We're just waiting for Kaito," she murmured, crossing her arms.
Akeno, sitting next to Rias, smiled calmly. "He should be on his way. Kaito knows how important this training is."
Koneko, always calm and serene, was sitting on the floor, eating a cookie. "He'll be here on time," she said confidently.
Suddenly, a magic circle formed on the floor of the room, and Kaito materialized in the center, a calm smile on his face. "Sorry for the delay. Let's start this training."
Rias smiled, relieved. "Finally, Kaito. Let's go to the cabin."
With a smooth movement, Rias activated a larger magic circle, enveloping the entire group. In an instant, they disappeared from the mansion, ready to face the challenges awaiting them in the mountains.
Mountain Cabin
The mountain cabin was an isolated retreat, surrounded by dense and majestic forests. The tall trees, with their intertwined branches, created a green canopy that filtered the sunlight, casting soft shadows on the ground. The air was fresh and pure, filled with the scent of earth and pine.
Rias, Akeno, Koneko, Kiba, and Kaito materialized in the center of a magic circle in front of the cabin. The building was rustic, made of dark wood with large windows that offered a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. A stone path led to the main entrance, where Grayfia was already waiting for them.
Grayfia welcomed the group with a discreet smile. "Welcome to the cabin. I'm here to assist with your training."
Rias stepped forward, thanking her. "Thank you, Grayfia. Your help is very valuable to us."
Grayfia nodded, silently thinking about how Rias could have started training earlier, lamenting that the young Devil had only now decided to seriously prepare.
"You don't need to thank me, Rias-sama. I'm here to ensure everyone is ready for the Rating Game."
Grayfia gestured for everyone to follow her. "Let's start with a tour of the cabin. I want you to be familiar with the place before we begin the training."
First Day of Training
The first day of training began early, with Grayfia waking everyone before dawn. The group gathered in the training field, an open area surrounded by trees, with the ground prepared for intense exercises.
Rias and Akeno focused on casting spells faster. They launched spells one after the other, their hands moving in intricate patterns as magical energies manifested. Rias practiced her Power of Destruction, while Akeno conjured lightning that illuminated the training field.
Koneko and Kiba dedicated themselves to physical training and simulated fights. Koneko, with her superhuman strength, lifted large rocks and performed intense conditioning exercises. Kiba, on the other hand, practiced sword fighting with magical swords, his movements fast and precise, focusing on improving his speed and agility.
Kaito and Grayfia were in an isolated area of the training field, away from the others. Grayfia observed Kaito attentively, evaluating his every move. Kaito began demonstrating his control over nature, closing his eyes and concentrating. A gentle wind began to blow around them, gradually increasing in intensity. The leaves of the trees danced in the air, responding to Kaito's will.
With a gesture, Kaito made the trees around them bend slightly, their branches moving like giant arms. He then made vines emerge from the ground, intertwining in intricate patterns and forming natural barriers.
Grayfia observed with a neutral expression, but her eyes were keen on every detail. "Impressive, Kaito. Your control over nature is truly remarkable," she commented.
Kaito smiled slightly, pleased with the compliment. "Thank you, Grayfia. But I'm still trying to improve."
To demonstrate his versatility, Kaito began conjuring different types of magic. He made the wind around him intensify, creating a small tornado that moved according to his will. Then, he launched fireballs into the air, which exploded in a shower of bright sparks.
Grayfia continued to observe, noting the ease with which Kaito alternated between different elements. However, something seemed to be missing.
After some time, Grayfia frowned, noticing a flaw in Kaito's performance. "Kaito, you haven't used any demonic magic. Why?" she asked, her voice calm but inquisitive.
Kaito paused for a moment, his expression serious. "I... am having difficulty combining my fairy abilities with my demonic magic," he admitted, looking at Grayfia.
Grayfia raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Explain."
Kaito took a deep breath, feeling the need to be honest. "My fairy abilities and my demonic magic seem to be in conflict. I can use one or the other, but I can't combine them efficiently. I can only use both simultaneously if I assume my fairy form."
Grayfia thought for a moment, her mind evaluating the implications. "Show me," she requested, her voice firm.
