“Are you there?”
Sevir reached out across the space between the bed and the chair and pulled the crystal free from his pocket.
“I have a proposal for you.”
When he didn’t respond, RuIng continued, “if we can exchange souls, would you do it?”
Sevir sat up, putting the orb down on the bed, head ducked, messy hair falling all around his face.
“You have been experimenting with the crystal?”
RuIng nodded, “it is not just any orb. It is a Crystal of Void. A void that maintains the balance of things.”
Sevir frowned, “how?”
“For one to travel through this, there has to be a compensation, a prince to pay, or you could say that the orb needs energy to carry out the task.”
Sevir’s brows pulled closer together. “I don’t understand.”
“For us to exchange souls, we need to feed enough energy into this.”
“How do we know it is enough?”
