Kapitel 135: Ch. 135: Prince Of All Saiyans (2)

"What!?" Frieza had launched himself at Piccolo in the sky, who was carrying me away, but unexpectedly found himself stopping in mid-air only a few feet from his original position. Looking back, he realized why.

"I knew you'd try that, Frieza. You're scared of that girl, aren't you?" Vegeta said through clenched teeth. Even though he'd known what Frieza would do, and had put all of his energy into grabbing the lizard by his tail as he flew past, he'd only been able to do it with on reflex and experience, with luck playing a big part. As a testament to how beyond him the feat had been, the veins on his arms were popping with strain, and his left shoulder had popped out of its socket. Still, he held Frieza's tail in his hands.

"Vegeta! I-I fear nothing! Let go of my tail!" Frieza howled.

"As you wish, milord!" Vegeta shouted sarcastically, whipping Frieza around his head and tossing the Frost Demon into a nearby hill. Naturally, Frieza wasn't very affected by this, so the Saiyan followed up with a barrage of energy balls. "You kidnapped me as a child! You told me that you'd spare my father... my people, if I did what you wanted, so I followed you like a dog! But you'd already killed them!" He screamed, blasting away at the hilltop with his full power. But it wasn't nearly enough.

"So what!?" Frieza shouted, flying upward at Vegeta, slicing through the energy blasts dotting the air like they weren't even there. Extending his fist, he clearly intended to punch straight through Vegeta's gut, but a bright flash of light appeared from Vegeta's outstretched palm, blasting the two away from each other just in time to save the Saiyan.

"You turned me into what you wanted me to be! You made a mockery of me, my race, and my pride for this entire time! I killed millions on your orders, and I don't even know why anymore!" Vegeta's energy was climbing even higher than it'd ever been before as he let his feelings loose. It wasn't enough to faze Frieza, though.

"The great Prince Vegeta, placing responsibility for his decisions at my feet... I'm shocked!" Frieza mocked, putting a hand to his chest in mock-outrage.

"No. I'm fully responsible for my own actions. I'm responsible for following you all this time, for the sake of my own blindness, and I don't intend on repenting. From now on, though I do what I decide to, for the sake of my own path, and my own pride, wherever it may take me." Making fists at his sides, Vegeta began pumping himself up once again, using every bit of energy he had. "I'll kill you right here and now, Friezaaaa!!!"

Vegeta couldn't run from this fight. He couldn't just sit back and let Goku deal with the bastard, his pride just wouldn't allow it. So, instead, he broke past his limits with no regard for his own safety. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew that even if he died here, Kakarot's softness would ensure that Vegeta was wished back with the Earth's Dragon Balls. As he raised his power to the point where his body screamed for relief, Vegeta didn't stop. Electricity crackled in the air around him. Dark clouds began to form in the surrounding area as the air pressure began to wildly fluctuate, responding to the extreme energy that Vegeta was barely managing to control, but the Saiyan's power just kept rising, passing even the amount of energy that Goku himself could harness.

"DIE!!!!" A purple aura surrounded Vegeta's body, excess ki that his body couldn't contain. Were I nearby, I would've recognized the technique as something incredibly similar to the one that I'd once taught to Pigero... Limit Break. The technique that had cost my young apprentice his life.

The single burst of every bit of usable energy in Vegeta's body proved to rival even Frieza's 25% power, to the Frost Demon's shock. With a flurry of punches and kicks, Vegeta forced the tyrant back, pummeling him into the ground before a final, incredibly powerful punch knocked Frieza into the atmosphere with a shockwave powerful enough to blow at Goku's hair and clothes. But Vegeta wasn't done there. "FINAL-" He put his arms out as wide as he could, building a terrifying amount of energy into a ball large enough to cover his entire torso.

"-FLASH!" A huge wave of bright white energy erupted from the energy ball in front of Vegeta, carving a path through the heavens above as it flew towards the dazed Frieza. This was Vegeta's final move. A huge beam containing every bit of energy that he could scrape up. Even if Frieza had managed to catch sight of it coming toward him as he tumbled through the sky as a result of Vegeta's punch, the Final Flash was on a completely different scale than the Galick Gun, especially in the size of the actual beam itself, being more than twice the size. Dodging an energy wave of that size without much reaction time was no small feat. Luckily for Vegeta, it seemed that his Final Flash scored a direct hit on the tyrant. When the sky cleared, Frieza's form was gone.

"I-I did it..." Once the energy wave dissipated, Vegeta fell to his knees, feeling the recoil from his Limit Break absolutely bottom out his stamina. Miraculously, though, he just barely managed to hold onto consciousness, instead of dying of exhaustion on the spot.

"Bang." As Vegeta mentally celebrated over killing his long-time enemy, a cold voice echoed in his ears. Only a moment later, he looked down at his chest, horrified. A beam of red light had passed straight through it. Looking back up, he found a literally smoking Frieza standing on a nearby bluff, his outstretched finger pointed straight at the Saiyan Prince.

"Damn... it..." A single tear rolled down Vegeta's cheek as he realized that his absolute strongest attack had been entirely ineffective against the monster standing in front of him. He'd failed, and that had hurt the Saiyan far more than death ever could.
