Kapitel 132: Dreams

"The bamboo flute" is shattered, but it is not a matter of causality.

Even if there were, such an existence would not pay attention to a place like Douluo Continent.

The "bamboo flute" was casually fabricated by Zhongli. During the performance, it absorbed a significant amount of "negative" emotions, and its quality could not withstand such "negative" feelings.

If only there had been more energy at the time of its creation, it might have given birth to a divine weapon.

"I'm sorry, but it seems this performance cannot continue."

Zhongli sighed and spoke.

In the previous performance, he infused too many negative energies, reflecting his hidden sorrow and longing.

Every recollection felt like a blade piercing his heart.

The crowd exchanged glances, momentarily at a loss.

Is this what the Martial God means by infusing emotions into music?

It's… too terrifying, isn't it?

If they merely performed… well, they were just playing.

But the Martial God seemed to be narrating his own life.

"Lord Martial God, just how much pain has he endured…"

"Anyone who hasn't run away from ten or eight girlfriends couldn't possibly convey such deep sorrow."

Xue Ke was the first to come back to her senses. She bowed respectfully to Zhongli and said, "Thank you, Lord. If it weren't for your piece, I wouldn't have known that such sounds existed in the world."

This time, Xue Ke was sincere. The tears at the corner of her eyes revealed that she resonated with the piece, sharing in its emotions.

Before Zhongli could help her up, she stood up on her own, discreetly wiping away her tears.

As a princess, crying in such a setting would be far too rude.

Zhongli nodded in acknowledgment and scanned the surroundings, noticing that even more young men were in tears, which puzzled him slightly.

"Why are you crying?"

Zhongli asked calmly. Was it really just half a piece that moved them to this extent? Besides, could they truly grasp the meaning of the music?

"At first, we couldn't recognize the meaning of the piece, but after listening again, we became part of the song."

"It's so painful, too painful!"

"Lord Martial God, you deserve all that you have achieved today."

"We only gave up on ourselves because our families looked down on us, donning masks of hypocrisy."

"I... my dream is simply to become a poet, but they say I am being impractical!"

"I also have dreams. It sounds ridiculous, but my dream is to be a chef..."

Hearing this, Zhongli was momentarily stunned and felt a twinge of emotion.

Rich and pampered Nobles?

The true pampered ones are knowledgeable, handsome, and favored by their elders, representing their family's future…

They weren't pampered youths but a group of children with dreams who couldn't move forward toward those dreams.

"Dreams are not ridiculous!"

"Remember, when one is young, one should aspire to reach the clouds and strive to become the best in the world."

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone was taken aback, looking at Zhongli with disbelief.

They instinctively straightened their backs, their eyes shining with light.

Remember, when one is young, one should aspire to reach the clouds…

Have you forgotten your dreams, young men?

Dreams are not ridiculous!

In an instant, the young boys and girls fell into a whirlwind of thoughts.

Tang Yuehua and the others stood by, dumbfounded.

In dealing with these pampered youths, most methods they used were restrictive.

Zhongli was different; in just a few short sentences, he transformed their spirit and vitality.

She had never witnessed such a scene, even though these people showed her outward respect.

Du Siji and Paimon were equally stunned, especially Du Siji. Once he regained his senses, her gaze toward Zhongli became even more fervent.

"My path is not wrong!"

"I was wrong only because I didn't know how to control myself!"

"When dealing with true enemies, I will use fire and fists to send them to another world to atone for their sins."

"But toward good people and brothers..."

Du Siji's mindset shifted slightly. As a possessor of an innate martial soul, he was naturally stubborn, and having undergone a second awakening, even more so. For him, achieving his goals was paramount, regardless of the cost! This was one of the reasons for the madness seen in second awakening individuals.

A single tune, a few words, combined with the faith in his heart...

If it weren't Zhongli speaking, the effect of both the words and the music would have been significantly diminished.

Of course, a change in mindset couldn't truly solve his problems; it only meant he was more restrained.

In his current state, what was destined to happen would still happen.

By this time, the crowd had also snapped out of their whirlwind of thoughts, each with their own insights.

Their families called them failures, but it was merely because their cultivation skills were lacking.

Their dreams, however, were not wrong.

Though their families did not recognize them, Lord Martial God saw them as the rising sun and affirmed that their dreams were valid.

"Thud..."

One young man knelt on one knee, his right hand crossed over his chest—a standard knight's salute, the highest form of etiquette for nobles.

"Thank you, Lord Martial God!"

"Thank you, Lord Martial God!"

The crowd expressed their sincere gratitude. If it weren't for the lingering attachments in their hearts, they might have chosen to follow Zhongli then and there.

Of course, if Zhongli were to issue a call, they would undoubtedly respond en masse.

"Men die for those who truly understand them"—in this world and this era, this was not just an empty phrase.

Among soul masters, betrayal, schemes, and conflicts were common. Yet, once a bond was formed, the feelings and connections between soul masters were hard to sever.

When Ghost Douluo died, Chrysanthemum Douluo, knowing full well it was a hopeless endeavor, still sought revenge on his behalf.

Examples like this were mostly found… among the so-called "villains."

How laughable it is.

Villains have dreams, aspirations, ambition, strength, and... but simply because they are "villains."

"For those gods, isn't Morax also considered a villain?"

Zhongli mused inwardly.

Whether Morax was a "villain" had nothing to do with him, Zhongli.

Zhongli raised his hand in a gentle motion, and an invisible force lifted everyone to their feet.

Their eyes were filled with gratitude.

"Hmm…"

For a moment, Zhongli almost forgot the purpose of his visit.

He had not come to Moon Pavilion to perform or listen to music.

"Miss Tang, I have come here today to ask for a favor."

Hearing this, Tang Yuehua was taken aback, glancing at Zhongli with some surprise.

A favor?

She, a mere woman, unarmed, with a soul power level of nine, not even a soul master—what could the esteemed Martial God Douluo need?

Could it be that he had taken an interest in...?

No, impossible. Lord's reputation was excellent; it certainly couldn't be for such reasons.

Could it be related to the sect?

If someone with "intentions" had investigated her true identity, it wouldn't be difficult to find out.

She was the third daughter of the main branch of the Clear Sky Clan. Even though she lived a secluded life, there were still quite a few who knew her identity.

In Heaven Dou City, people merely refrained from mentioning it to avoid offending the reclusive Clear Sky Clan.

A starved camel is still larger than a horse.

Though the Clear Sky Clan had secluded themselves from the world, not many of the direct descendants had perished.

After some brief consideration, Tang Yuehua led Zhongli, Du Siji, and Paimon toward the reception hall.
