Kapitel 117: Heavenly Island

The experience I accumulated amidst calamity has made me acutely aware of the paramount importance of decisiveness. This time, I had no intention of concealing myself among ordinary folk. With a sudden, thunderous shout, the skeletal war lance materialized in my grasp, and fifty skeletal knights surged forth, exuding an overwhelming aura of menace behind me.

The members of the skeletal knight legion were meticulously chosen elite warriors, transformed by me into their ranks, alongside a sorcerer who wielded eight blood-red talismans of the knife demon, akin to eight razor-sharp flying daggers.

"I am the Guide of the Underworld. You, burdened by your sins in life, have been assigned to me for arduous labor. I give you thirty seconds to form an orderly line; failure to comply will result in merciless consequences!"

I refrained from revealing the Death Breath to transform; with the skeletal knight legion to instill fear, adopting a more monstrous appearance might yield counterproductive results, causing these individuals to flee in panic. Nevertheless, this formidable assembly was indeed impressive. Though they were initially startled, they obediently stood at attention. The absurdity of threatening to kill them was surprisingly effective. This group of over two hundred individuals constituted a considerable force, and under my leadership, they swiftly joined a tribe known as the Yellow Springs, followed by an unceasing cycle of slaughter and combat.

Such a world was perfectly suited to my inclinations. In these thematic realms, Guides hold a unique position. They possess profound knowledge of the thematic world. Although the amusement park restricts the abilities granted by Demon Island to maintain balance, this posed no hindrance to me, as I possessed the heart of a warrior. During my time in the Abyss, I encountered true leisure-seekers, who entered through a method distinct from that of Guides and ordinary individuals. These players, possessing special statuses, lacked the powers of a Guide but bore the attribute of immortality, many of them being costly money warriors, despised by most gamers.

According to regulations, I was also prohibited from conflicting with these patrons of the amusement park. As I became familiar with the responsibilities of a Guide, the novelty wore off, and I found the role rather mundane. In the Abyss, I rigorously trained my subordinates, compelling them to engage in continuous combat, achieving remarkable efficiency through the simplest and most brutal methods.

Among them was a girl named Qiu Fengqing, who even surpassed Wang Zhong in accomplishments; she was the only level ten warrior I had guided, her combat prowess nearly matching my own. Over the past ten days, I did not neglect my own training, both mentally and physically, and this intense regimen proved immensely beneficial. After ten days, when I emerged from the Abyss, I was astonished to find that fifty-five individuals had attained warrior qualifications, exceeding my expectations by thirty percent.

Judina, upon reviewing my task achievements, appeared quite pleased and remarked, "Your performance is commendable. Have you considered becoming a full-time Guide under my command?"

I felt a twinge of apprehension towards this woman and wished to maintain my distance. I promptly declined her offer, stating, "I have no intentions of settling on Demon Island, nor do I seek a fixed position. I appreciate your kind offer."

Judina expressed a hint of regret, saying, "I am currently in need of staff, especially young men with your commendable character. I will compensate you as agreed, and you may choose your reward."

With a gentle tap on her desk, a massive screen rose before me, resembling a display case filled with countless treasures and cards.

I waved my hand lightly, and the screen immediately scrolled, revealing a tactile interface that allowed me to enlarge or reduce specific treasures for a clearer view. At the bottom of the screen were the options I could select from, marked with varying exchange rates: one point for level eight, one point for level seven, and four points for level six—my hard-earned rewards. The warehouse of the amusement park boasted an even more diverse array of items than the auction house on Demon Island. After flipping through over ten pages without finding anything to my liking, a thought struck me, and I turned to Judina, asking, "I've heard that the amusement park features top-tier spatial cards across its themes. May I select a high-level spatial card as my reward?"

Judina shook her head, saying, "I cannot provide that as a reward. It's not that I lack them or am unwilling to offer them; rather, you do not yet qualify to be a manager."

"Manager?"

"Indeed! High-level spatial cards are not merely storage spaces; they are small worlds with complete functionalities. To fully master a top-tier spatial card, one must obtain management authority over it. Without the qualifications of a manager, a high-level spatial card is rendered useless to you."

"Is it truly so difficult to acquire management authority?"

Judina lightly twirled her pen without answering my question, casually stating, "Top-tier spatial cards are not particularly rare; often, multiple cards correspond to the same spatial point. If any holder obtains management authority, the other cards become immediately void. If you are unafraid of this risk, I have a rather unique spatial card that may pique your interest."

With a flick of her wrist, the screen in front of me began to scroll again, and an eighth-level black card magnified before my eyes.

The Heavenly Island eighth-level spatial card, one of the most renowned drifting islands in the Sea of Death, spans an area of one hundred and eleven thousand square kilometers, resembling a cross. The image on this black card was not static; it pulsated with vibrant life. While the vast ocean offered no clear point of reference, I could discern that this picturesque island was indeed in motion.

Heavenly Island held a significant allure for me. After a moment's hesitation, I inquired, "What makes Heavenly Island so special?"

Judina lightly curled her finger, and a steaming cup of coffee appeared in her delicate grasp. She took a sip and replied, "Heavenly Island often disappears for periods, its movements across the Sea of Death lacking any discernible pattern. Furthermore, this spatial card has changed hands dozens of times, with no one ever becoming its manager."

My curiosity was reaching a boiling point. Taking a deep breath, I resolved to voice all my questions, regardless of whether Judina would answer; at the very least, I wouldn't suffocate in silence.

It is said that every island and continent has a ruler. If one can please the ruler who governs the world, they may gain boundless benefits.

Could you please clarify the distinction between a manager and a ruler?
