"Let's take a 5 minute break" Ambai wheezed as she took a deep breath.
'Go.. Master… go.. You are so amazing,' little Fynn voiced out from her shoulder.
"You lasted for 15 minutes this time" Zhong proudly said as he looked at the timer. They both have been sparing for 2 hours now. Each time they would calculate the time it took to defeat the other.
After their training, they just sat on the tree top and enjoyed the view.
"Zhong, what do you think will happen to this hostage prince," she voice out loud as a looked at him for answers.
"I don't know" he shrugged his shoulders.
"What do you mean, you don't know? Aren't you supposed to be the 'power demon' and all," Ambai said as she made air quotation marks.
"Powerful yes, Omnipotent, that would be a big no," he stated looking at me with a smirk.
"Che, I knew it. You are a scheming fox," she added as she smirked at him.
Ambai smirked glancing at the silly devil. After the Aaorlin incident she reconciled with him and now they are pretty much friends. or so she thought.
It was a strange feeling. becoming enemies to friends but somehow, her heart felt very comfortable in his company.
"Erudite, Zhong, your training time is over. Go back to your rooms," Huyt, their master ordered as he began chasing all his students back to their room.
On the way back, Ambai saw many guards marching around the entire forest. The Hostage prince of Lafta was arriving today. And the entire kingdom is preparing for it.
A loud horn was heard as the ground trembled. Loud tremors ran through the forest, sounded like a giant's footstep. The army marched with so much uniformity that it almost sounded like a single footstep.
"The hostages are here," announced the leading general Kaden, as a huge cage was dragged into the city borders. The cage was covered in muslin, obstructing the view. Two others followed the giant cage; their hands and legs were shackled, and the guards were pulling their iron chains.
'Why are they treating a prince like a caged animal?' she thought as she stood in the corner of the trail.
Soon crowd formed along the path. And poor Ambai was drowned in between them. Her small stature made it even more difficult for her to observe.
She kept jumping up, trying to find a better view. A Person's back obstructed her view. she tried looking to the left, but that person moved left as well. She tried moving to the right, and that person moved to the right as well.
She tapped him on his shoulders. "Hey, you are standing in my way," She said.
"Trying to flirt with someone else again," a menacing voice came from a person behind her. She turned to find an enraged Imposter Zhong.
"Hahahah I am not flirting haha," Ambai laughed awkward when she noticed his glare.
He came closer and stood right in front of her, "Don't even think about stringing along that guy. And wear your veil."
This comment really pissed her off, "I am not a player and I never will be a bastard like that. Stop acting as if I am cheating on you. We are not even in a relationship. Try to remember that the next time you say 'Flirt'," Ambai raged and walked off.
Fang watched all this from a tree nearby.
He was stunned when he first saw the Miriafa prince.
Prince Erudite stood in the corner with his wet blond hair sticking on his forehead; his beautiful green eyes were shimmering in the sunlight; cherry lips parted a little as he looked at him.
The little Miarafa prince he had seen in the portrait was angelic, 'No, this prince looks too seductive'. He thought as he blushed red.
Suddenly a small stone hit his head. He almost stumbled from the branch, but managed to balance himself. He gazed at Kaden, who was presently glaring daggers at him.
'This bastard. He really likes bullying me ah' Fang thought as he kept jumping from branches to branches..
Soon the warriors reached the palace gates. 'I still can't get used to these trees. Man, these are super big,' Fang thought as he looked around in wonder. Drum roll started and their procession finally stopped marching.
King Rukle strode out of the castle in his golden armour and sword.
Ambai watched her father exit the palace.
He strode over to the cage and ordered someone to open the blinds. Soon the muslin covering the cage was removed. But the sight inside frightened me.
A figure with dark matted hair was inside the cage. His hands shackled to the top of the cage and his legs shackled to the bottom of the cage. His head hung low and was not moving. There were even flies buzzing around his form.
"Dead! he's dead," she whispered in horror.
Panting, Ambai stepped back. bit her back hit a strong body. She turned to apologize, but a pair of arms held her waist to their body.
"Don't be scared. That guy is alive, " Zhong said in a silent voice.
Her father walked in front of the cage and started unlocking the numerous lock that held the hostage prince.
"Hey Zhong, what was his name again," Ambai questioned, looking up at him.
He just squinted his eyes and answered, "Deric."
"Deric," She called out, trying to remember his name.
The hostage prince turned his head towards her as if he heard her whisper. His matted black hair still covered in face so she could not see his features.
But she bet he could see her's.
