Kapitel 1325: Chapter 901: Not So Secret Invasion (Part 2)_1

Everyone seated on the sofa could tell that the live camera was positioned on Shiller's chest. In other words, they were now witnessing everything Shiller was experiencing in first person.

They saw Shiller follow the Nick Fury on the screen, towards a secret laboratory located in the basement of the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. After approximately ten minutes of travel via a hidden elevator, they arrived at another base.

Nick pulled out another potion from a lab cabinet and said, "This potion is the latest product of our research. Just one dosage can perfectly resurrect a person, heal all wounds on the body and regenerate limbs..."

Shiller shook his head and said, "I'm not an expert in pathology, but I have to say, this is an incredible potion, Director. You are holding the future of mankind in your hand."

But Strange, who was watching from outside the screen, frowned and said, "Something is not right here. There's no way the potion can work as perfectly as he claims."

"We all know that the lizard potion developed by Doctor Connors involves the use of lizard genes. However, even lizards don't just sprout new limbs out of nothing. They require energy."

"This means that energy must be consumed during the process of limb regeneration. The faster a limb regenerates, the more energy is consumed."

"Doctor Connors told me, the reason he couldn't instantly regenerate a perfect limb for amputees is not that lizard genes can't do it. It's just that the energy supply from a human body can't support such output."

"What if magic is involved?" Stark asked.

Strange shook his head and replied, "Magic can produce a limb instantaneously, but the problem is that the limb is comprised of magical energy. It's akin to your prosthetics. Once the magic energy is cut off, the limb will disappear immediately."

"Have you forgotten about the principle of death that Shiller explained to us before?" Nick said "After death, soul travels to the realm of death, and if it is rejected by the realm of death, then it revives. To make a specific soul be rejected by the realm of death, a deal with death has to be struck."

"Note, this is the sole method in this world that can resurrect life. Be it using ritual potions or abilities, it's merely superficial. The ultimate principle certainly traces back to the realm of death."

"You're saying, this strange doppelganger of you that appeared after your death, claiming to be the resurrected Nick Fury, possesses the ability to negotiate with the realm of death?" Stark narrowed his eyes. His face turned somber, but then he queried.

"But if Shiller made a transaction with death and brought us back to life, wouldn't it mean that if this individual makes another deal with death, we can be brought back to life once more?"

Nick chuckled and replied, "You will find out soon."

On the screen, Nick and Shiller were discussing the potion in the lab. Suddenly, Nick picked up his phone and said,

"What? The bodies have been found? Really? Immediately transport them here. I'm heading over…"

Afterwards, the two hurriedly returned to the previous base, and on the screen in front of everyone, they saw themselves lying inside of S.H.I.E.L.D's life-support capsules.

Inside the life-support capsules, the bodies of Iron Man, Captain America, Spider Man, and Coulson were preserved exactly the way they were at the moment of death. Even their wounds were exactly the same. Iron Man was pale, Captain America and Spider Man had gaping holes in their chests, and so did Coulson.

Shiller immediately put on a sorrowful expression, making a cross with his fingers over his chest. Nick handed him the potion he was holding and said, "Doctor Shiller, go on, revive your friends. You will see them again soon…"

"Thank you, Director." Shiller's mournful face accepted the potion, and then injected each body in turn, in their arms.

After that, everyone's bodies started to heal visible to the eye. Skin began to regain color, the chest started to rise and fall, hearts restarted, and Captain America was the first to rise.

Steve, the off-screen viewer, opened his mouth wide. He stammered, "He... I... I am, wait…"

He glanced down at himself in confusion, then looked back up at the screen, looked down at himself again, seemingly in disbelief. He said, "How can that man look exactly like me? He looks exactly like me down to every last detail, even the stubble and moles..."

Steve shook his head, but Stark quickly seized on a loophole in the logic. He said:

"If this doppelganger of Nick Fury possesses Nick Fury's memory, then he wouldn't be unaware of the fact that Shiller possesses mind reading."

"Although Shiller himself has stated that his mind reading can only perceive vague emotions, no one truly knows the reality. If it were really Nick, he would certainly consider the possibility of Shiller's mind reading ability being on par with that of Professor X."

"As such, he dares to let Shiller face the scene of all the superheroes resurrecting, and even makes him personally carry out the resurrection. This indicates that these resurrected phonies are not afraid of mind reading."
