Kapitel 3: Three

SIENNA

Once my eyelids cracked open, the uncomfortable feeling in between my thighs was the first sensation that I paid attention to. I tried to sit up but found that I couldn't move. There was a muscular arm wrapped around my waist, keeping me immobile. I winced when the dull pounding in my head spiked up a bit.

'Where am l?' I wondered, still feeling groggy.

I was warm, comfortably so. And, this scent washing over me...was lovely. So much that I wanted to lay there for the rest of my life. This scent was unfamiliar. In fact, this situation was unfamiliar.

Bringing a hand to my head, I squeezed my eyes shut. I couldn't remember what had happened the previous night. My last memory was the moment I'd escaped from the pack.

I sighed, moving my limbs a little. Then, I felt it. I wasn't quite sure at first. But, when I moved again, brushing against it, I realized the truth.

I, Sienna West, was no longer a virgin.

Straining to free myself from the arms of the stranger whom I'd slept with, I rolled to the side.

Worried that I might have awoken the stranger, I glanced at him. However, he was still sound asleep.

Another sigh left my lips as I brought a hand to cover my eyes.

"Great, I lost my virginity to a total stranger. Good going, Sienna" I mumbled.

Moving my arm away from my eyes, I turned my head to the side, my gaze resting on the sleeping Adonis beside me.

He was gorgeous. The way he slept with a serene expression on his face made him seem like a dark angel. His unruly bed hair was such a sight. This man's eyelashes were so long, they kissed the top of his cheekbones. His slightly parted lips were fuller at the bottom, but they were perfect. Down to his chiseled jaw, he was pure perfection.

The more I watched him, the less I felt bad about sleeping with him. At one point, I actually liked the thought of it.

Deciding that I'd overstayed my welcome, I figured it was time to leave.

The moment I got out of bed, my legs gave out. Maybe it was out of pure shock but I knelt there, my eyes wide.

I knew that I had the stranger's impressive length to blame for the soreness between my thighs. But, I was also aching on other parts of my body which had been banged up during my struggle with Nathan.

This wasn't the time to be weak. I needed to leave. I gritted my teeth, pushing myself to my feet.

While I struggled to put on my underwear, I heard a knock on the door.

'Oh no. I have to-'

My train of thoughts came to a crashing halt when I heard a husky voice which came directly from the man I'd slept with.

"Give me a minute, Jake."

I froze like a deer caught in headlights. My brain had suddenly stopped working.

At this point, I was convinced that my heart was about to explode.

"Look at me"

I gulped, my throat going dry.

"Do not make me repeat myself."

Slowly, I turned around and our gazes met. At the sight of his silver eyes, it all came rushing back.

The drink had been spiked, I realized. This was going to spell trouble for me because he wouldn't believe that I was innocent, even if I told him the truth.

With sleek, graceful movements, he sat up and stepped out of bed, his hair tumbling down his back.

He stood there in all of his masculine glory, his crippling gaze bearing down on me.

"I will go easy on you if you tell me who sent you, as well as what your true intentions are" he spoke, pulling up his hair into a low bun, at the base of his neck.

"I...I was just running away" I blurted. He raised a dark brow, his lips set in a grim line.

"Why would you run away, if you aren't guilty of something?"

"Look, it wasn't me! I didn't spike your drink!"

Quietly, he moved to his closet and took out a bathing robe. With my heart in my throat, I watched him slip it on, and knot the sash around his waist.

"I didn't say you did."

"What?" I gasped, tears of terror filling my eyes.

"Don't worry, you'll cooperate more when you're locked up in a dungeon."

"No, wait-"

"Jake! Take her away."

The door swung open and a huge man walked in. He had to be at least seven feet tall. With huge muscular arms and thick neck, this guy was nothing short of a walking bulldozer.

He left me no chance to redeem myself or escape. I knew that if I didn't act quickly, the situation would most likely escalate. Hence, I tried to run.

Right when I began to struggle, a hit to the side of my neck knocked me out.

...

When I opened my eyes, I was indeed locked up in a dark cell. I was used to being locked up. Still, the knowledge that I'd ended up in another cell made my stomach churn. Could my fate get anymore tragic? I couldn't help but wonder. Curling up on the cold floor, I squeezed my eyes shut. A lump lodged itself in my throat as I thought of everything I'd gone through before now.

I was a werewolf without a wolf. I was more or less a human. However, I had an unusual eye colour that distinguished me from humans.

I'd lost my family when I was six. They had died during the war that had claimed the lives of so many werewolves. Only Nathan's pack had survived the war. Other werewolves who'd managed to survive had ended up either becoming slaves to the Lycans or vampires.

As a child, I'd learnt that my parents had handed me over to Nathan's pack for my protection. Either way, I was always an outcast.

I'd lived a life filled with longing and loneliness. I'd believed that Nathan could change that. Boy was I wrong.

The sound of steady footsteps approaching the dungeon made me sit up in a hurry, only to stir up the pain within my body.

Biting back a whimper, I leaned against the wall to catch my breath.

My visitor stepped into my line of vision, his silver eyes trained on me.

"There's only one reason why you haven't been beheaded yet" he droned.

I swallowed hard, rubbing my sweaty palms against my dress.

"I didn't spike your drink. I just served you what was given to me. I swear I'm telling the truth... you have to believe me" I croaked.

He stared at me for a moment. Then, he opened the door and walked in. His scent filled the air immediately. It made me want to relax.

It was odd how much of an effect it had on me.

Taking a deep breath, he squatted in front of me and cupped the back of my head. I held my breath, refusing to look him in the eye.

"Do you think the Lycan king has nothing better to do than come down here to question you?" He demanded, his voice icy.

My mouth went dry, my heart plummeting.

Lycan King?

Impossible.

This can't be happening!

I was panicking big time. No matter how hard I thought about it, I couldn't wrap my head around it.

"Talk while I'm being nice" he hissed, his eyes narrowed.

Scared out of my wits, I lowered my head. He wouldn't have it though. He yanked at my hair, forcing me to meet his menacing gaze.

Every cell in my body went cold. Everything else started to fade away. I could hear the frantic beats of my heart. I could hear the blood pounding against my ears.

We were standing under the night sky all of a sudden. I parted my lips to say something but was interrupted by a stab to my guts. I gasped, lowering my head. Realization hit me as I started to grow light headed. He'd just stabbed me.

"W-what-" I started to say.

"There's no way you can survive this. I'm putting you away for good" he spat, pushing his sword right through me.

"...out of it!"

"Snap out of it, woman!"

I blinked, finding myself staring at the Lycan king. I stared down at myself but found no sword or stab wound.

Moreover, the fear I'd felt was real. I was sure of it.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" He demanded.

I recoiled from his touch, moving farther away from him. I suddenly couldn't breathe. All I could think was...'He's going to kill me.'

"Please, just let me go. Please, don't kill me" I whimpered.

He straightened, towering above me.

At this point, I was certain that I was about to have a panic attack. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake off the dreadful image out of my head.

"Look, I'm trying to give you a chance to redeem yourself because I might have done something I must take responsibility for. So-"

"W-what are you trying to say?" I stuttered, my heart racing.

A muscle ticked in his jaw, his brows creasing up.

"I'm saying... I might've accidentally marked you while we had sex."

My jaw dropped, panic assaulting my senses.

"N-no... that's not...not possible" I gasped, my eyes brimming with tears.

"You didn't know?" He asked.

"Know what?"

"That you're my mate..."
