Kapitel 59: To prove a point [1]

Vivian tilted her head to her right shoulder, studying the inner turmoil blazing in the red hue of Ronan's eyes. Normally, she would have been frightened out of her mind and would have recoiled because of his snarling threats as she would with Dane, yet that was not the case.

With Ronan, it was easy to discern that his priority was to ensure she remained safe even from him. He fought so desperately to suppress his primal instincts, and it made her wonder if he was truly a ruthless Lycan, as rumours claimed his kind to be.

"You are afraid," Vivian said candidly, stretching her hand to touch his face. By instinct, Ronan eagerly leaned into the palm of her hand, seeking solace to tame the beast within him. "But that fear is not because you think you will hurt me, nor fear that you will lose control."

Ronan's eyes flashed open again, taken aback by her words. Was she telling him that he didn't understand the nature of his own fears? Why else would he be afraid?
