Kapitel 230: In the dark of uncertainty

Everyone at the dining table turned to look at Ballister, wondering why he'd raised his voice just to get Chaos's attention.

"Balli! Did you miss me?" Chaos asked, slurping the bouillon and licking off the grease around the corner of his mouth.

Griselda tore her gaze away from Ballister and returned her attention to Herschel. "Tell me... your plan to kill the demoness?" There was desperation laced in the woman's voice that Herschel failed to notice.

"Ah!" Herschel snapped his fingers, thinking that the witch wanted the demoness gone just like everyone else. He continued, "Kael asked that we- Chaos, put your feet down and eat!"

The man was interrupted by the position Chaos assumed, pushing his legs on the table to eat, which was absurd.

Griselda groaned when the conversation was cut short again. She clenched her jaws tightly, glaring at Herschel and Chaos.
