Alden focused on his mental energy. 

But he didn't know how to move his mental energy through his body.

His heartbeat increased, and he started fearing to disappoint Aether.

'Calm down, Alden,' He exhaled. 'Just focus.'

He slowly lost touch with the outside world as he concentrated and entered deep meditation.

'First, I'll try activating my spiritual eyes,' 

Previously, Alden had tried to activate the spiritual eyes without the help of the system, so now he wanted to activate them again to get a feel of how it is to control the mental energy through his body.

But of course, though he succeeded after several tries, he still didn't use it in battle as it was far faster to activate the spiritual eyes with the help of the system.

Alden moved the spiritual energy to his eyes and then slowly moved it down his back.

When the mental energy got near his ribcage, he spread it throughout his whole body, searching for the meridians.
