"Is everything okay?" he asked, trying to keep his voice even.

"Yes, yes, everything is fine, Jingyun," Song Ning said, trying to dispel the cold environment in the room. At the same time, she was trying to squeeze his mother's hand, an action he did not miss. 

Si Jingyun furrowed his brow. "What happened?" he asked, sensing that something was wrong.

"How could you do this, Jingyun?" his mother spat out, pointing a finger at him. "She is your wife, the mother of your child. How could you do this to her?"

Even his father, who was usually calm and collected, looked at him with a mix of anger and disappointment.
