Kapitel 95: CHAPTER 95: UNREQUITED LOVE

She looked at Tiana lingeringly, her maternal love visible even for Dave. He couldn't help but feel envious for a moment before resolution appeared in his gaze.

Once the kids were gone, he looked at her and suddenly asked, "Briar, are you feeling well now?" concern laced in his tone.

When she heard that, Briar was forced to stop looking at her child to face Dave, who had been quite close to her for some time now.

She smiled at him with a reassuring smile as she answered, "I am much better. Thank you for worrying."

Dave once again heaved a sigh of relief but felt a pang when his gaze paused for a moment on her head. She used to have long hair and after not seeing her for nearly two months; the hair was gone. He could see the stitch line which went into her head.

Whatever she experienced, it was very serious. His heart ached.

"That's good." 'what really happened to you?' he wanted to ask but couldn't say it out loud.
