Denis admitted that Faye's guess was correct, but what she wanted now was too sudden, especially when Mia's problem wasn't over yet—"Ah ..." He understood now where her change came from.

"We can't do this," Denis refused firmly, then added, "not now, Fay." Not when Faye isn't stable. He didn't want to take personal advantage of Faye's teardrops that hadn't dried up.
