Kapitel 47: REGAINING CONSCIOUSNESS

Emily's eyes fluttered open, and she took a moment to orient herself. As her gaze cleared, she found herself in a hospital room, surrounded by the beeping of machines and the sterile scent of antiseptic. Confusion filled her face as she took in the sight of IV drips attached to her hands. She slowly sat up, cradling her head in her hands, and scanned the room.

That's when she saw Robert, his eyes closed slumped in a chair. But as soon as she whispered "Babe," his eyes snapped open, and he sprang to his feet, rushing to her side. He enveloped her in a tight embrace, relief written all over his face. Emily felt a wave of comfort wash over her, her body feeling surprisingly strong and normal despite the unfamiliar surroundings.

Emily wrapped her arms around Robert, holding him close. "I missed you so much, babe," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion.

"What's going on?" Emily whispered back, still embracing him.
