Vincent could see Tilla’s stiff shoulders relaxing a little. So, he further said with all honesty, “This was probably the first time a woman selflessly did something for me. You even risked your life just so you could prevent the others from seeing that monstrous side of mine. And I… I couldn’t resist appreciating you.”

When Tilla still didn’t say a single word, he headed for the door. He didn’t want to keep on making her feel uncomfortable by opening his heart more than what was needed at the moment.

Before he left the room though, he looked at her one last time and said, “Just so you know, I don’t regret it. The kiss. I hope you feel the same way.”

When Tilla heard the door slamming shut, she finally let out a deep sigh of relief and instantly drooped her shoulders. She was glad to hear all the clarifications from Vincent. However, at the same time, she wondered what the kiss really meant. And she wondered how it was going to affect their relationship from now on.
