Anastasia, on the other hand, was still shaken by the thought that tonight was going to be her last night. She did hear his questions, but her mind simply went blank. She couldn’t think of an answer to any of his questions.

Caspian was also not looking for any explanation from Anastasia. He was just pouring his heart out.

Even if he was to get answers from her right now, he wasn’t going to listen to any of it.

He was not in a state to be able to process Anastasia’s answers in a rational manner. He was driven by raw emotions, and the feeling of betrayal was too fresh in his heart for him to listen to any of his wife’s arguments and excuses.

Caspian didn’t like how his wife was closing her eyes. He felt as if she was avoiding looking at the consequences of her own lies.

Thus, he gently caressed his wife’s tender cheek with the back of his palm, painting it red, and then abruptly grabbed her chin and lifted it with slight force.
