‘The more days I stay quiet out of fear for my life, the more days Ruby will have to spend in that cold cell of the dungeon!’ Cillian screamed at himself in his head.

He was trying to talk himself into being brave and speaking to the Alpha.

‘Get a hold of yourself, damn it!’

He tried to compose himself and gather his thoughts so that he could say something. Anything. But his mind suddenly went blank when he lifted his head and looked at the overbearing man standing by his side.

Cillian instantly looked down. His eyes fell on the warm blanket that he currently had over his legs, and then on the soft mattress that he was using.

His mind took him back to the dungeon where there was nothing except a cold stone floor for the bed.

He felt even guiltier because while he was enjoying the hospitality at the castle, Ruby was being treated like a criminal.
