Mandy's Diary Today

Mom knocked on my bedroom door as I sat curled up on the bed, staring blankly at the bare wall in front of me. For those two days I chose to remain silent rather than socialize with people—except this morning, when I quietly left the house and returned before dusk. I only spoke to the pharmacist who served me.

      "Okay if you want to be alone, honey. Mom won't force you to join us," Mom sighed desperately. "If you're hungry, Mom still leaves some food in the kitchen. Mom, I hope you haven't locked yourself in for too long. You need to socialize."

      I didn't answer. Mom seemed to have given up on my stubbornness. In the end, he left my bedroom door, walking away. Both Mom and Dad, they competed to persuade me to leave the room. I even suspected that Mom had called Justin and told him how I was here. Then, I quietly asked, does he care?
