To have a high chance of winning, Devon had to do everything possible to score three points in the shortest time possible. She didn't want to underestimate Kim with strategies, given the rivalry she had with her opponent.
As soon as the referee's words ended, Devon quickly retreated, stopping at a safe distance.
"Escaping again?" Kim shouted as she moved forward.
Knowing how to defeat her opponent, Devon continued to maintain her safe distance as Kim approached again. While staring at Devon, who seemed to have run out of space to retreat, Kim involuntarily felt that this time she had the advantage. Knowing that, a powerful fighting spirit emerged, transforming into a series of punches directed at Devon.
Seeing how those blows were approaching, Devon could perceive that her vital areas were being targeted by those violent attacks. It felt like something was warning her from behind, something that alerted her to do something.
Devon took a deep breath and carefully watched the trajectory of those fast-approaching blows. She knew that if she countered correctly, she could score a point and win this round.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
While Devon pondered, those blows began to arrive, so she had to dodge them one by one.
Sharpening her observation, Devon smiled at each of those blows before noticing an important detail. "I found it!"
Just as Devon's body was about to be overwhelmed by that series of blows directed at her, her eyes widened with surprise. Ignoring some of the punches that would impact her defensive posture, she extended her palm that pierced through the punches aimed at her like a sharp lance through Kim's defenses in the same way Dash pierced Jack's defenses.
Thud!
In an instant, due to a series of complications, Devon's palm collided with one of Kim's punches, causing her to stop as she felt the peculiar way Devon was moving.
At the same time, a kick was directed towards Kim's face, who suddenly backed away, still impressed by Devon's ability to throw those kicks.
Kim was visibly surprised for a moment as she saw that Devon's kicks were from Taekwondo. Immediately, with a snort, her clothes extended forward with force.
But although Kim was cunning, Devon was not foolish. Thanks to her great perception skills, she realized what Kim wanted to do, so she turned around and unleashed a spinning kick that completely stopped Kim.
"Ah!" Kim fell backward, feeling the kick hit her stomach.
"Point!" The referee shouted, giving Devon the point as she stood.
Devon took a deep breath. This fight was more technical than anything else, so she hadn't had serious complications in the fight process. But what bothered her was the time it took to score points in each fight.
"Damn it!" Kim got up from the floor and looked at Devon, who maintained her serene expression.
The referee stepped forward and asked, "Ready? Fight!"
Hoo...
Devon knew she needed to be faster so she wouldn't waste time, and as soon as the fight started again, this time she didn't give Kim a chance to recover.
"Now!" Kim, who watched Devon approach quickly, kicked towards her face.
But Devon was faster and slid along the ground; at that moment, her hand changed to a punch and forcefully hit Kim's leg, who didn't have time to retreat.
Thud!
Without giving her time to recover, she slid her right foot down and brought Kim down. Devon knew that if she didn't finish the fight now, it would take her much longer to do so.
When Kim fell to the ground, Devon held both of Kim's hands with her left hand and attacked Kim's face with contained force as she tried to break free.
"Point, winner!" The referee shouted, seeing that Kim had been brought down and that Devon maintained control from above.
When the referee shouted the winner, the audience erupted in cheers of excitement.
Devon stepped away from Kim, but not before extending her hand toward her. She knew they were rivals, but that didn't mean they hated each other.
Kim, who had been completely defeated, pulled away from Devon's hand and returned to her place without saying a word. She had always won at everything she set out to do, but after meeting Devon, she knew she couldn't beat her.
Returning to her corner, Dash, who was waiting, hugged her and said, "That was impressive; well done."
"Yeah..." Devon smiled happily; this was an official victory, and by defeating Kim again, she proved to be the best in every aspect.
...
Soon the next fight began; now Miguel would face Jake, who had a history of leaving all his opponents in a terrible state.
"How does the wound look?" Dash was being checked by the doctors, and for now, they applied a special ointment.
"You'll be fine."
"Aaaaahhhh!!!"
At that moment, a painful scream was heard from the stage where they were fighting, and when Dash looked at who was on the ground, he immediately approached.
"Miguel!" Johnny ran towards the stage to check Miguel's eye that had been injured in the fight, and besides that, he also received a blow to the head.
"You did that on purpose."
Dash furrowed his brows, and at that moment, he looked at the replay, seeing perfectly how Jake had poked Miguel's eyes with an open palm strike.
"Shouldn't he be disqualified?"

"Are they only going to penalize him with two points?" Johnny exploded against the referees, who had only taken two of the three points Jake had obtained.
Johnny was arguing with the judges, who had overlooked this blow with serious infractions but without a direct disqualification, which they believed Jake deserved.
"This is absurd; how could they qualify that blow as valid and accidental when it's clear that he wants to hurt my student in the eyes?" Johnny couldn't tolerate this happening.
Jake Kim looked at everyone with a smile and repeatedly said, "It was accidental; it wasn't my intention to hurt him in the eyes."
"It's a common trick..." Dash knew this was common in gloveless fights.
When an eye strike occurs, it's up to the referee to stop the action and inspect the fighter. If the fighter cannot continue immediately and the injury seems serious, the referee will call the ringside doctor.
At that moment, the referee and the doctor have five minutes of discretion regarding the continuation of the fight. After five minutes, if the fighter is deemed unfit to continue, the fight is canceled. If the referee deems the eye strike intentional, a disqualification can be called. However, a decision of no contest due to an accidental foul is more typical.
So far, three minutes had passed, and Miguel seemed unable to open his eyes, also because he was bleeding and swelling.
"He won't be able to continue fighting; even if they win, it wouldn't mean anything more than reaching the semifinal," Dash thought as he stared at Jake, who still had a mocking smile.
Johnny was furious. He looked at Jake, and when he saw him smiling, he asked, "Are you mocking us?"
"Damn you, bastard, I'm going to teach you to respect your opponents."
Daniel stopped Johnny, who was about to step forward to fight Jake, but at the last moment, Dash approached and said, "I'll take care of him; I'll face him in the semifinals, so I'll finish him off."
Johnny stopped upon hearing this; his chances of winning this tournament had been halved. Right now, only Robby is left in the competition with Sam, and their advantages aren't many in terms of possibilities.
To be honest, Dash knew that Cheng would defeat Robby, so they would be out of the competition, but it wasn't bad to avenge a friend.
"Just finish him my way, mercilessly," Johnny said, patting Dash on the shoulder, who nodded.
Having no mercy against opponents was something he had been employing for a long time, so there was nothing to worry about. He would avenge a friend, finish off Jack, and incidentally win this tournament.
When he returned to Devon, he looked at her and said, "Let's avenge them; what do you say?"
"Since this happened, I can't say no to you now; let's do it." Devon nodded and then focused her attention.
The first two semifinals were decided; now the next fight was Cheng against Robby, but before that fight, Danny's battle against Dre was truly brutal.
Both not only raised the fights to a high level but also injured Danny's leg before he only won by the points made in the female fights.
But at this moment, Dre was superior in all aspects compared to Danny, who barely survived the fight with him.
The next fight was Robby against Cheng; the first five minutes of the fight were even until the resistance began to fail so much that Robby couldn't continue the fight.
When Cheng began to have the upper hand, he threw strong punches that connected one after another, resulting in a three-to-zero victory. The female fight wasn't much better, as it ended with a score of one to three points in favor of Cheng, who seemed very concerned about Dash's fight as he didn't stop giving him advice.
"Don't let him score a point; you have to be stronger and faster."
Dash nodded and said, "Don't worry, look, they've brought out the cup."
Everyone looked at the trophy, which was a golden scepter holding a puppet kicking towards the sky.
"Devon and Dash, please move to your positions," one of the tournament supervisors said.
Devon walked nervously next to Dash, who was checked, and seeing that he could continue fighting, everything was ready.
As the fight was about to begin, Dash turned to Devon and said, "Don't be scared if you see a little blood."
Devon furrowed her brows and said, "I won't let you hurt yourself more for this tournament."
"Don't, but let me finish him," Dash said, looking at Jake Kim, who was jumping on the platform.
